Oh, The Places We’ll Go! (Prompt 21/21)

Our final day: 21 Days of Journaling in July ! Our last prompt is one of my favorites…but they are all my favorites. Meanwhile…

Please be sure you have taken advantage of the free PDF as I am pulling it down for revision, editing and…more! Oh, and if you have any input -at all- please be sure and let me know, as I will be using these prompts (after revised, improved and edited) in book form as part of my upcoming local workshops!

And now a word from our sponsor…OK, it’s just me. Ha! Please take 5 minutes for my special word for you today!

Here we are at the end of our 21 day journey. As I write this post (fresh for you tonight!), my family is preparing to leave for vacation first thing in the morning! Of course I will be taking my current  journal along, as always. It is pictured here on a recent excursion to the beach. Therein lies your hint for today’s prompt…

Your mission, if you choose to take it is to venture somewhere to write with your journal…out of the ordinary routine of things.

Local library, coffee shop, park bench, museum, hotel lobby. I have journaled in DC  on a tour bus at midnight, in a RV (as a passenger) on a train en route to Baltimore, beach-side in the Bahamas and in too many coffee shops to calculate! Outside, inside, lakeside. Wherever you go, your journal can go.

A journal is a soul’s best friend, and a direct connection from the writer’s  heart to the heart of God.

OR

If you’d rather, try this: Take a few sheets fun stationary or funky paper and go to your destination. Write about where you chose to go and why…then reflect and write whatever comes to you as you sit.

OR

go FIND or BUY some pretty letter writing paper at a local stationery store, card shop or gift shop – you can even pick out a card JUST or YOU – you have permission to go look at cards and find one that you absolutely love, make sure it has lots of BLANK space, and even preferably a blank on the inside card. Now, grab a coffee, tea or beverage of choice and write a note on the inside telling yourself why you chose the card you did! Make sure to get the envelope to glue in your journal and you can slide the card in and out to read when you wish.

*Adhere whatever you chose into the journal in a way that it is accessible so it does not get lost.

After today’s prompt, you will have completed the 21 Days of Journaling in June. But guess what?  If you didn’t, I am having a redo SOON! Stay tuned for more information.

Now, if you wrote on any of the prompts and would like to share an excerpt or whatever you wrote or if you want to share about WHERE you went for your Journaling Date…leave a link or comment below. Be sure and use the hashtag #21dayjij for social media sharing and I will find you!

Thank you for joining me here on the journey!

  1. Dawn… I love this one & will be doing this one on Saturday. I have 3 days to catch up so taking my time & enjoying each prompt. I want to thank you for this journey. It has meant a lot to me & it has been my very first successful start to finish journaling journey EVER! I am going to save this little journal forever in hopes my kids & grandkids find it someday. I have enjoyed this journey with you & thank you so much!

  2. I don’t usually go to other places to journal, but have done so a few times at our church’s conference center that is a beautiful, quiet place; also the pool in our apt. complex – in the “off” season; but am excited to think of a different place to go to write…this probably won’t take place until a week or so as I will be at a scrapbook retreat in Daytona Beach (I know…BEACH would be a great place to write…but we will not be ON the beach and will be intent on getting our projects done.) But I will find a place!!

And I am taking my time to finish out the prompts; and WILL do so…

Thanks again for this journey; always love journaling and journeying with you, my friend!!!
