Gifts for the Dreamers, Writers and Otherwise Creative Friends on Your List

I got a message earlier this week from a friend inquiring about “journaling” gifts and asking for my suggestions. She gave me a brief description of who she was buying for and wondered what I would specifically recommend.

Well, shopping with other people’s money is my joy! Even if only in my head. Opinions I have, and opinions I share. So, since this is a question I get often, I have decided to share some of my very favorite repeat purchase products for journaling.

I’ll catch my planner people with another post.

Have You Ever Seen a Walking Butterfly? Birthday Bundle Giveaway

PicMonkey Collageccccssssbbb

Yesterday I stated that the best way to celebrate your birthday every day is by giving yourself away. I want to clarify. I’m not talking about selling yourself out, or being taken advantage of in any way- don’t misunderstand.

I am talking about being a willing giver.

We all have something to give, don’t we? Whether time, talent, cash, caring or creativity. None of us is ever truly empty-handed.

Each year as my birthday rolls around, I start to thinking what I would like to have…only to come to the same conclusion, I really need nothing.

When I was a Little Girl (Prompt 20/21)

One. More. Day. Today is day twenty of our journaling journey. I’ve posed a question on my Facebook Page @ Enthusiastically, Dawn.– check it out and let me know your thoughts. Today’s prompt can be a lighthearted look at childhood. If you’re like my hubby, you have so many happy family memories, he always is bringing up moments from the past, and can be quite nostalgic. I have a mixed bag from my past…but that doesn’t mean I can’t look back and find a few rays of sunshine. I know that had I not suffered  many of the things I did, I would not be the same person. I believe we can find something to be thankful for even in a challenging or tragic childhood. I know  I have.

The Power of Words (Prompt 19/21)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning. John 1:1-2

“Writing and reading decrease our sense of isolation. They deepen and widen and expand our sense of life: they feed the soul. When writers make us shake our heads with the exactness of their prose and their truths, and even make us laugh about ourselves or life, our buoyancy is restored. We are given a shot at dancing with, or at least clapping along with, the absurdity of life, instead of being squashed by it over and over again. It’s like singing on a boat during a terrible storm at sea. You can’t stop the raging storm, but singing can change the hearts and spirits of the people who are together on that ship.”  Anne Lamott

Can you believe the 21 Days of Journaling in July is almost finished for 2016? But remember you can get the downloadable PDF for free through the end of this month! Stay tuned for inspiring things here on the blog! Meanwhile, our prompt for today is words. I’ve added some potent quotes at the end of this post, so do NOT miss those!

Happy Journaling!
