The Letter (Prompt 15/21)

A letter is a blessing, a great and all-too-rare privilege that can turn a private moment into an exalted experience. ~ Alexandra Stoddard

It does me good to write a letter which is not a response to a demand, a gratuitous letter, so to speak, which has accumulated in me like the waters of a reservoir. ~Henry Miller

Letters are among the most significant memorial a person can leave behind them. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Today’s prompt is sure to move you to writing, but if you want a little warm-up, I did a spontaneous Journaling Periscope ocean-side this morning.

And for today’s writing…

Write a letter to a person who has impacted your Spiritual Life in:

A) A positive way

OR

B) A negative way

The positive is easily written, but may be hard to choose one person. Choose one person to start, but who knows, perhaps this will prompt you to recall and write (and even send) many letters to those who have blessed your walk with God.

The negative letter is more challenging, but may offer surprising insights and value, therapeutically, as you allow the words to spill out on paper.

See where the prompt leads you, and remember God is faithful and can use writing as a vehicle to speak o you…let it be your Burning Bush!

OR

You can write a letter to anyone who has mentored, impacted your life in another realm…say, motherhood, career, sports.

Write in your journal before God and yourself only. You can copy and edit the letter for sending if and when you decide, but remember your journal and all that is in it, is for your eyes only. And God’s naturally!

May He reveal great truths to you as you write bare your soul!

    1. Thanks so much for being here, I know it is a packed season! Also I am behind…lol. I actually am realizing short videos doing the prompts could be really helpful. Will have to practice format to be consistent! No sidetracked silliness. lol.
