I’ve told the story to myself many times. The one telling how he walked into my life. How he turned my world upside down. I’ve played it over in my memory so many times. Haven’t we all had moments in time that lay hold of our imaginations, bump us into our own insignificance by being significant in themselves, ultimately revealing we are significant after all?
Milestones. Defining moments. Crossroads.
Haven’t we all experienced a moment in time so significant that all others pale ever so slightly by comparison?
I sat down in January and wrote the story again.
My One word for the year had been chosen. The word that replaces resolutions for the new year and focuses intentions. My word “redeemed” would not keep quiet within me. It seemed to want to spill out everywhere. It showed up in my writing, interactions and daily living. This one word. My one word, identity, intention and focus for 2015 is a word that breathes life into me. It revives my spirit, reminds me, when I forget who I am, carries me through the days and sleeps within me all night.
I wrote the story and it slept as I wondered how and when it would be shared.
March came and I decided the story must not sit in drafts any longer. I had already had a couple of fellow writers read it, but it just did not have a destination. Then a fellow believer and blogger named Lily reached out to me. She had found my old site through Faithful Bloggers and made her way to my new place, Enthusiastically, Dawn. She wanted to know if I might share a testimony or something God was doing in my life for her new blog, Faith + Testimony?
Would I?
Faster than Sarah Palin ever said”You betcha!”, I replied yes.
If Lily, in California, can connect with me in Rhode Island for the simple joy and pleasure of exalting the name of the Lord, I have a question for you.
Would you consider sharing what God has done in your life and join us?
Come on over and read MY STORY, and if you too are Redeemed, I ask you to come share what the Lord has done for you. Check out the details over at Faith and Testimony on how you can share your story, too!
O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:3-5
I want to acknowledge and extend my thanks to the gracious, talented and all around amazing Lynn Morrissey (author of the beautiful Love Letters to God) for taking the time out of her own busy schedule to read, edit and extend useful feedback for this piece. Thank you for the example you are in all you do. You are a blessing and inspiration. I am so grateful for you!
“….bump us into our own insignificance by being significant in themselves, ultimately revealing we are significant after all?”
I haven’t clicked over to read the testimony yet Dawn. I am still relishing these clever and powerful words right here!!

Dawn, what a joy to have met you, a redeemed one in Christ, through the introduction of another redeemed one, blogger and artist Kel Rohlf, whom I also call friend. And now, you too are a dear friend. We share so many loves: Christ first and foremost, journaling, planners, mutual friends, and even a love for blogging. I don’t have one, but I’m venturing out a bit via guest posts and small epistles on my Facebook page, and I love reading and commenting on them. You and I love words and THE WORD, so when you asked for my opinion and graciously received my advice about your piece, it was I who was so privileged and honored. I hope many will read your testimony and stand in awe of what God always does with a soul who is yielded to Him. My dear African-American octogenarian mentor, Myrtle, about whom I’ve written now on two blogs, always told me: “Lynn, testimonies about
Jesus are so strengthening.” Myrtle, now with the Lord, is so right. Hers strengthened me, and now yours will strengthen many. Keep writing for Him, Dawn, because you have such GOOD NEWS to share, and you do it so well!
Love
Lynn

So, well.. I love your name.:) And I love the heart of enthusiasm you are sharing for Him here and writing in other spaces. I know about this writing and sitting in draft for a while, sometimes these things He is working in us have to ferment so that they can be perfect when they are shared.
Your testimony will reach farther than you can imagine, thank you for sharing it so passionately.
Blessings!

I’m stopping by from #TellHisStory. It’s not a coincidence that I read your post. I’m working to get a fuller version of this story traditionally published: http://staceythureen.com/a-new-song-to-sing
Reading what God has brought you though has really encouraged me to keep going. Thank you!

Trusting in the Lord and rejoicing in the Lord is all we can ever do. I’ve often said that if He had not broken into my life…April 15, 1966…I would have been dead a long time ago re: alcohol, violence, or suicide. Now, because of Him, I’ve been a spiritual helper and worker and missionary. He is what counts forever and ever. I’m pushing 70 … will be in July… and then pushing to heaven. Can hardly wait! Thank you for sharing.

Hi, Dawn. This is awesome! I know God’s timing is always perfect and knowing when/where/how you were to share your story bears no exception.to that. I also recently shared a series on my own blog…called “The Love Chronicles” http://christintheclouds.blogspot.com/p/he-love-chronicles.html ..It’s kind of lengthy, but if you scroll down and click on where it says “My Story”, it will take you directly to my testimony. God is so wonderful in that He does truly meet us where we are!! Thanks for sharing…I am also considering entering my story over at Faith and Testimony. Blessings, Ann
