My Life’s Mission {Faith Life Preservers-Day 3}

I am but one little life walking in the footsteps of one very big God.
Fearless with Him.
~Dawn Paoletta
I have taken part in a small group study of Rick Warren’s The Purpose Driven Life twice. The second time around I pushed myself to write out my life purpose statement. I have shared it here in my blog space before, but as I consider those things that keep me afloat during troubling times and challenging circumstances my Life Mission Statement is a Faith Life Preserver, without a doubt.
Mine is short enough to remember for me!
It can be longer and actually can be changed over time.
Have you written out a mission statement for your life?
Here’s mine:
My Life purpose is
 to KNOW God,
LOVE Him with passion
TRUST Him completely,
grow in His GRACE
minister His TRUTH,
and SERVE Him
wholeheartedly
wherever I am
whomever I am with
at all times
forever.
Amen.
Have you given any thought to your life purpose?
Have you embraced it or are you running from it?
Confession: I ran from it for a long time before I finally embraced it.
God is patient, faithful and merciful.
When my ship is capsized, friends and I am looking for something to hang onto,
my Mission Statement reminds me of why I am here and where my focus needs to remain.
Every trial I encounter will be directly in opposition to one of my stated objectives.
In the end I will be stronger in the area the enemy has targeted.
By Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ, my Redeemer and Life Preserver.
To His glory.
And my benefit.
Painful at times, but gloriously true.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,  who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.  In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.  These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,  for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

  1. Ah, the life purpose question…..it has been nipping at my heels a lot lately. I thought I knew, and then I didn't, or it changed. Now I am redefining why I am here. Thanks for another collection of beautiful words and thoughts to ponder Dawn.

  2. Yeah…it's ongoing. But I know for me it is simple. All related and comes back to the simplest thing. Him. You know? I mean when you really boil it down. Every other single thing comes right back there. And in that place is rest and peace for our weary souls. Really our only purpose is wrapped up in two words Know God. That's where it starts and ends. Phew. I am ranting here a bit. Late night cocoa. Love and hugs, my friend.
