But no one says, ‘Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night,
who teaches more to us than to the beasts of the earth
and makes us wiser than the birds of the air?’
Job 35:11
I am not sure what it is about the creatures that fly.
I find them to be intriguing teachers.
Mysterious, unique.
After all they do, fly.
And haven’t we all wanted to fly at one time or another?
When I was a child I often would dream of flying.
There is something heavenly about birds to me.
That they are not earth bound, but like angels, somehow closer to God
than other creatures.
I mean His eye is on the sparrow.
Then it is also on me.
I connect them, in my mind.
I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine.
Psalm 50:11
I watch them.
They too, are Faith Life Preservers to me.
I observe and it seems God is willing to teach me through these smallest of creatures.
He has ministered to me as I have observed and listened to His still small voice within.
That He knows EVERY bird in the mountains…created each one.
And He knows me.
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much more valuable than they?
Matthew 6:26
Often God speaks to me as I quietly
watch these feathered friends of His.
There is wisdom in them.
I ponder Him caring for them,
yet knowing He values me. More.
Powerful.
Tender.
Truth.
Truth that keeps one soaring instead of sinking.
Do you believe God values you more
than the birds of the air?
He knows them, still!
He knows you.
Rejoice in this tender truth.
Observe the birds and receive grace for today.

This is so beautiful and we recently have been enjoying two lovely doves in our tree! Their sweet presence has been an atmosphere changer for me. They just exude peace and tranquility and this post adds so much to my spirit. Thank you Dawn.

God also touches me with his creatures. I sit on my deck every morning and take in nature. The birds and butterflies always amaze me. What freedom they have! But we have freedom too…through Jesus Christ! Be blessed 🙂
