That I Might See

See…

I hear one lone sound, this bird just outside my window. Beautiful, piercing the dawn with his song. In the background there is an answer to this call. In the far distance I hear the response and I wonder what are they saying? I am up before the dawn, sleep elusive. As unseen as this sweet bird. Yet I am not bothered by his chirping nor for the fact that sleep denies me. I am seeing in the darkness. Quietness but for the beginnings of morning’s symphony. I want to hang onto this peace, wrap it around me like a rainbow blanket for my day. It is all black outside, yet I am seeing unseen colors of life. Hidden joy whispering promises of a new day filled with hope and mercies. Ah yes, those ever present mercies. Unseen? Yet so needful. As needful as the sunrise yet to come. Soon I will see it. This morning dawn is coming and I will meet her. I will embrace the day in His grace. He never lets me down. He cannot. He is as faithful as the dawn.
Then, I stumbled on this verse and thought it was perfect for these morning thoughts-
 a serendipitous find this morning-
after the 5 minutes BUT had to share it:

Let us acknowledge the Lord;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
    he will appear…
Hosea 6:3

Additionally this song came to my mind:
“Amazing love, what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He pays, and my death He dies
That I might live, that I might live!”
Um, so I had to find and share this too-
Be encouraged today my friends!

From Gypsy Mama:

“So, here’s the skinny: I’ve been thinking about writing and how often our perfectionism gets in the way of our words. And I figured, why not take 5 minutes and see what comes out: not a perfect post, not a profound post, just five minutes of focused writing.

  1. OH, I so appreciate your post. Three years ago, when the birds would begin, I would complain and cover my head with a pillow. Now, I sit and listen to them, waking with their sweet song and give thanks for such a beautiful alarm clock!

  4. Beautiful post, beautiful Scripture, beautiful song (one of my favorites). There is always a symphony of birds in the early morning as I sit in my backyard with my coffee, listening and enjoying. I'll be thinking of you when I hear them now. :)Blessings, friend!Pam

  5. Thank you for this reminder that these birds welcome the dawn, welcome the morning out of darkness. I will remember this next time they wake me up at 6:00am!
