Celebrate Writers: Random Acts of Kindness

The Bookshelf Muse is hosting a special celebration. You. Bloggers, Aspiring Writers and Writers of every kind imaginable. They are also offering some sweet gifts and prize opportunities over there this week! I am new to them and suggest you go over and see for yourself!
I thought this was wonderful because it coordinates with my 1 year Blogiversary this month (more or less: May 20th!) and I have been pondering often the blessings of this blogging excursion and how wild and lovely this all has been this past year.
I feel as though I have to say all of you who stop by and have encouraged me through your kind words, frequent visits (and the infrequent ones too, it’s a busy place in the blogosphere!) have been such a gift to me this past year. Each portion has played a part in my development as I continue to work out and practice my writing skills. You all have helped me be brave and feel safe… “out of the closet”! So I want to thank each and every one of you who taught me by modeling for me through your interaction here, grace, truth, creativity, hospitality and friendship through excellent writing, sharing freely of ideas and information and generous camaraderie.

I have touched on this before in these posts:
I have to give a special shout out to someone who really has given me so much encouragement and prays for my writing and this blog on an ongoing basis. Her name is Lauree and believe me her imprint, through prayer is on this blog, friends! She also encouraged me by reading and sharing her enthusiasm for my writing in the beginning of this endeavor. Her continual reminding me and affirming that I have a gift and God wants to use it has kept me stepping out in faith this year! She is an amazing thinker and will hopefully have her own blog soon, as I know her combination of historical understanding combined with her voraciousness for God’s Word, needs to be shared!

I also have to give a special mention to a lovely lady that leads my writing group, Her name is Peggy and she holds a monthly group called “Write Connections” at my one of the nicest libraries in Rhode Island: Loutitt Library in lovely West Greenwich. Miss Peggy (as I like to call her) facilitates writers of all ages- I being one, in lively discussion, interaction and sharing of ideas and latest writings. She has won an Honorary Mention from the 78th Writer’s Digest Annual Competition in Children/YA category and is currently working on three book projects.
One Blogger in particular who inspired and impacted me early on is is Beth
over at C.Beth Blog. Beth also heads up The One Minute Writer
and was one of my first blogs that I “followed”.
I had know idea whet I was doing but her place in the blogosphere
really helped me to stretch my own
new blogger muscles and reach for the blog stars!

I also want to mention a blogger who helped me with guidelines
and allowed me to write my first guest post: Mel @ Trailing After God!

Last but not least, Courtney over at Faithful Bloggers helped me feel welcome in the strange new world,
and also allowed me a place to meet other wonderful bloggers.
It really is a wonderful world for writers- when we share, support and encourage one another in our own God designed uniqueness!
So join in, and celebrate a Writer today!
