Journaling Prompts For the Birds

“The reason birds can fly and we can’t is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings.”
― J.M. Barrie

I have a cute calendar my mom gave me. It is one of those freebies that comes in the mail when one donates to a cause. I love this particular free calendar as it has the prettiest, colorful birds adorning the pages. I keep it in my Traveler’s Notebook (and I WILL be sharing more about the details of that in an upcoming post!) and never tire of seeing the simple border of birds when I add an event to the monthly view.

The thing that is surprising and a bit ironic about this bird filled booklet is the addition of monthly memory prompts, which seem to me to be perfect journaling prompts!

I’d say it’s a Journal Keeper’s dream come true. I should have titled this post Journaling Prompts From The Birds, as it would be more accurate…or perhaps From The Birds’ Calendar most clearly reflects the truth. Alas, I am a sucker for a catchy title, so please excuse my creative liberty.

This little monthly calendar offers up an appropriate for the month journal prompt. Today for our Journaling as a Lifestyle Series I thought it might be a great list to share. There are days when we might not feel like writing about what is happening right now in our lives, but we want to maintain a journaling practice. Or perhaps the diversion of a prompt is more appealing to your heart, mind or soul. Well, here we have a quick list straight from this simple bird book.

Prompts are to journaling what bird seed is to birds!

So here I am scattering the seeds today, little birds! Enjoy!

Choose one today for your journal or save for a day as is good for your Journaling Journey:
