Makeover Monday (Lap Desk)

Hello, Friends. I am cultivating creativity all month in March and maybe beyond. I have enjoyed rummaging through my many paper scraps and am getting organized since my office makeover in January. Since My One Word for the year is Renewal, it is no surprise I’m feeling inspired to make many old things new! Each Monday, I will be sharing a completed projects and joining one of my favorite places in the Blogosphere, Create with Joy for Inspire Me Monday. I hope you will find inspiration when you visit. My inner crafty chick was feeling deprived so I have given her free reign as of late!

I am not a perfectionist, and prefer, paper type projects. I also am into keeping things simple and being resourceful by using what’s available around the house. I am  cheap  frugal and in a declutter mode, which means my preference is to create from what is available and/or free! I am still learning as I go, so tips are always appreciated!

The first little project I want to share is a lap desk my mom was getting rid of …so much for decluttering! I love this handy table and use it often to eat, or do little projects while watching TV with my hub or in bed. It has a beady filled underside that makes it comfy and adaptable to different surfaces. Oh, and it is just right for my beloved Microsoft Surface Tablet and new mouse! Yay!

I wanted the lapdesk to reflect back positive themes, so I cut out favorite snippets from magazines, devotional booklets and randoms bits I had ssaved  in my clippings junk box.

After I spray mounted the images and words I wanted using Elmers Spray Glue, I modpodged  the whole top.

The final result after drying. I love it!

Simple, fun and encouraging to look at!

Please join me next week, for a peek in my Planner and a DIY Planner Makeover with tips!

Also if you are a Journal Keeper of any kind, join us for Random Journal Day, the first Friday of every month! We share a peek in our journals, and link together here! Check back Friday! Link is up all weekend.

Happy Inspired Monday!

This is neat! The hardest part of decluttering for me is thinking, “But I could do something with that…” My problem is I just usually don’t have the time to finish all my thoughts! 🙂 Thanks for visiting my blog today!
