if your day was filled with moments of rest
even in the hastiest instant
when the toothpaste
squirts wrong
and the toilet paper back up
is out if reach
and someone left the roll
bare
but for that one wretched piece that is really
not a piece at all
but instead of ranting
and growling
you smile
because life is too short to rant about toilet paper
and laundry
that never finds its way to the basket but
only the floor
and socks that don’t match
ever.
Imagine…
if a smile played on your lips
and instead of everyone
having to get everything right
in your estimation,
there was grace enough
for each one
who crossed your path today
and they were challenged to smile back
BUT
still even if they didn’t
you smile all the more
for the knowledge
of the joy
and peace
and confidence
of His perfect goodness
residing
in you…
a sinner-
redeemed.
We are rockin’ our words for 5 Minute Friday- Join us?
Smile, and the whole world smiles with you. Frown, and you frown along. Not sure who originated that quote, but it is certainly true. Smiling is contagious! We all need to practice it more diligently!Great post and reminder today!

Oh yeah this is good. But usually the empty roll is my own fault, so I CAN'T complain. Argh!! I like your style. Thanks for sharing.

Hi There, I'm stopping by from the linkup at OnlyABreath. :)I really enjoyed this. The whole thing about the toilet paper made me chuckle out loud because I'll admit it…I HAVE BEEN THERE! It really boils down to attitude and perspective sometimes doesn't it? Choosing to look at the world through my own eyes or through His eyes?Beautifully written!

Wow! Dawn, I am so happy to find my way here this morning through Melanie's link-up. What a beautiful post. To imagine His perfect goodness residing in you! Life is too short…thank you for these words and reminder to extend the same goodness He gives us to others. Oh the energy wasted on toilet paper, laundry, etc…. Your words truly spoke to me. Blessings.
