Celebrating One Year of Random Journal Day (Giveaway)

Can you believe that this past March 31, 2013 was the very first time we officially got together for our Random Journal Day gathering?
On behalf of Susie and myself, I want to say to each and every one of  you
Thank you for joining us on this journey!
May we live long and prosper...oops, I had a Star Trek flashback infringe upon my mind for a moment.
In all seriousness, blessed to be here with all of you!
Now let the games begin! Or at least the journals be open…
And may the odds be ever in your favor...
oops- more recent flashback!
For those who are feeling nostalgic, here is the first Random Journal Day Link Up:

March 31, 2012

!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=”//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js”;fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,”script”,”twitter-wjs”);

GIVEAWAY! (just a little one)

To celebrate this one year anniversary I will give a journal to one lovely recipient.

If you would like to be included in the random drawing, just leave a comment below and I will include your name! One entry per person.

Do you have a favorite brand or type of journal?

Here we go…

1. Dig out one of your old journals, or a recent journal.
Choose an entry, or a portion of an entry

that you feel bold enough or at least comfortable to share.
We prefer if you could include a picture of your journal if possible!

2. Write up your blog post, publish and link up here.
Link up the blog post you are sharing, NOT your general Blog address-
so we can visit your entry.
We don’t have a Badge for this Blog Hop yet,
but if you just link back to this in your post that will work.
(Random Journal Day Link Up)
*You can use Susie’s RDJ Photo (above) if you like!

3. Kindly visit and comment on the
person before you in the link up.
You can visit more but we understand that everyone is busy.
Please visit at least one other Random Journal Day Link Up

as that just would make it nice for all.

We look forward to peeking in your journals!

* This is a link for Journals of all kinds.

However, in all fairness to those who are creating posts,

this is not a link-up for general blog posts.

There are plenty of places to link up those in the Blogosphere.
Read more about Random Journal Day and see all posts under the LINKS tab, HERE!

  1. I'm leaving a comment about how wonderful it's been to be part of this community of jotters–in pen, pain, found art and however else the Spirit moves us. However, please don't give me the journal. You know how OCD I am about my plain blue notebooks. Sigh. I really should get out more. Anyway, thanks again. I've been blessed and expanded by this company.

  2. I have never saved a journal once I fill it up.. Isn't that strange? Maybe I should start? How many filled journals do you have?

  3. Dawn- I thank God for the day that I found Random Journal Day! Thank you Dawn and Susie for this fun idea…I hope and pray more journal fans will find this link-up and spur one another on…journaling is my lifeline and the way I connect with God the most! Here's to another year!

  4. Ren, you do not save your journals? That is so interesting! I began journaling as a teen and now as I am in my late 50's I am so glad that I did. It helps me recall important markers in my life and my kid's lives. But now, I am wondering if they should be destroyed before I die. Morbid huh? Susie

  5. Kel, (Susie here) I am so glad it has been good for you. The power in a journal is only limited by how much we are real in our writing and my journaling keeps me real. Sometimes painfully real. Ha!

  6. Susie, not morbid- something I consider but trust God for since we never know when our time will come. Journals reveal the good , bad and ugly but also grace…for those with eyes to see. tough call..

  7. Yes, Kel! I am so glad that Susie made me do this…HA! No seriously, grateful for the journey and for each one who has shared! Grateful for both of you, and the opportunity to come together and share the “painfully real” (as Susie mentioned) in a safe place…we become in community our own safe place when we are filled with grace for one another.

  8. REN (I just noticed that I said Kel instead of Ren- honestly two of my favorite blog visitors and I can't keep you straight! FORGIVE?)Here is the comment again addressed to YOU, Ren: I have no idea how many I have- they are everywhere. Some of them are pictured on the floor in our new RJD button! They overflow the trunk I used to keep them in. I have often considered having a journal burning party for my before Christ years…there is some horrible stuff in there. But I never want to forget what I look like, am apart from Him. In case I forget…I have them back to about 18-19 years old. But sadly I did throw our the teen years ones along the way and earlier…wish I hadn't. I do have some of the poetry I wrote as a teen though.
