He came that I might know
Have life.
Live love.
Overcome as He overcame
He lives now
so that I can…
know how
to live today
and forever
I wish I could say I know all
but choose instead
to learn to know the One
who said:
*“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live,
even though they die;
and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
Do you believe this?”
so I die…
to my own selfish ambitions,
and trust
that if I crucify
the me in I
Somehow I live and never die,
because He lives, so do I.
 a maddening plan,
I have my part
I take His hand-
I choose
by grace through faith,
I believe
I am

  1. That's as good a summary of Christian faith as I've come across in a good while. In fact, with your permission, I might use this in a service at some point. Obviously, I will ensure that it is clear that you wrote this and not me.

  2. Hi DawnAs I was reading your poem, the thought crossed my mind that this death we need to die, we only do to experience the resurrected life of our Lord Jesus. And this is the only life worth living … a life lived in Him!Much loveMia
