The Uncertainty of Bubbles

credit
There are days when clinging to truth is like capturing bubbles…
grabbing at wind,
watching each perfectly clear,
round beautiful bubble rise-
high out of reach
reminds me of the fleetingness of my life
that mist
I gaze skyward
feet firmly planted
I long for that which is out of my reach
grasping the air
I feel the breeze and ponder,
I know not where the wind blows,
yet I know the Spirit
that moves the wind.
Hair tousles
ears listen
mind perceives
senses alive…
yet this cloud refuses to leave me, chases me down
I refute the darkness that longs for me
bubble bouncing off  leafy tree limb
escaping narrowly
until the sudden
burst
I stare upward at nothingness
pondering the meaninglessness of life
the vastness of the universe
and one swooping gust that allows a gasp to escape me
and a giggle,
and I am all small
little girl in awe
 again
the child
bends low
blowing bubbles
to the wind
while dancing with the
bending branches
yielding completely to the presence
of this momentary beauty
hinting promises
unseen
but certain
yes, certain.
