we need to order our days rightly.
To be prepared,
yet understand that preparations are not guarantees.
To recognize that life is brief and fragile.
That we hold life in our hand like a sweet dandelion
that is blown in the wind,
spreading seeds of whatever we value most,
into the lives of those we love and encounter along the way.
That moments make up all that we are,
and will ever be.
And that moments are meant to be lived not hoarded, stored, hidden.
Instead our moments are to be spread generously like seeds
of love in the hands of the sower.
Graciously sent out in trust that there will be a return.
Despite the current appearance or state of things.
For we walk by faith and not by sight, under the care of a loving, living God.
Trusting in the unseen realms for hope.
Today I lift up my eyes, knowing where my help comes from…
My Faith Life Preserver is this:
I am called to praise and thank Him in all circumstances.
As we await what is feared to be the worst storm our area has seen in 70 years,
I look to the One who calms the seas.
He’s the same one who keeps me.
As our tiny state prepares and holds dear the prayers of friends and loved ones,
I thank God for His Presence and Peace.
I will praise Him in this storm.

Dawn- Praying for you and those on the east coast facing this storm…one of my sisters lives in NJ…she said this morning…this storm didn't get downgraded…we just got upgraded…I thought that was a good spiritual metaphor…sometimes when we are hoping for a downgraded storm in our lives, instead we get an upgrade…will I cling no matter what type of storm is headed my way? I love the imagery of the windblown dandelion and the seeds being the release of love…the dandelion doesn't even try to keep itself intact, it just surrenders to the wind…ahhh!

Oh that is a beautiful addendum , Kel @ The Dandelion! I had not even thought about that…yes. Love that. Also about the upgrade…I love the way you think. Prayers for all in the path of the storm and will be trying to schedule some posts before I lose power…but glad my family is all home with me. Be safe! In His Grace, Dawn

I am praying for you and your family and friends all along the coast today. I know storms can be very frightening, but we know WHO holds you in the center of the storm. He will not let go of you. You've been learning to hold on to His life preserver all this month…and now you may literally need one…but isn't it great to know that He is REALLY there to rescue and save you? Yes, just keep “praising Him in this storm”…He will carry you through. ((((hugs)))) to you today.

Lovely words about the many storms that we have to face that can leave us scared and devastated. Many of them can leave us feeling totally helpless and abandoned, but I know that every experience that God exposes us to is meant to make us stronger. He is our hope, waiting to offer shelter and protection through even the stormiest of situations!!Prayers and love for safety and His protection my friend!!

Hey friend – hope you all fared well through the storm yesterday. Saw reports from family and friends in your area – we came through as protected in the Cleft of the Rock! Can't say the same for the shore-line, though. Our woman's retreat was to have been this weekend at the fabulous Victorian hotel Flanders on the Ocean City Boardwalk. Can't get into the city at this time – still under water. Boardwalk okay but business district flooded. Wonder if the hotel sustained much flood damage inside. Waiting to hear what the change of plans will be – we were all so looking forward to the retreat, too! What's the story on the journal idea – any closer to your four names?Joy!Kathy
