The Great Yielding

And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth,  to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.
Genesis 1:14-19
I recently read these verses and was blessed as God surprised me with fresh revelation and insight, to my wonder and awe.
God created order; although God created one light greater and one lesser-
he had a specific purpose for each to serve which was unique, coordinated.
I see a mutual submission expressed in the light God created in the order
He ordained for Sun and Moon, day and night.
Both needful lights; each called to specifically yield to the powers that be, namely: The God that is…to shine and express the fullness that God purposes.
Marriage is a great yielding after all, and as my dear friend pointed out to me when I shared my fresh insight with her:  the moon is illuminated by the Sun.
In this yielding I see the order and purpose God has ordained for the marriage of a Man and a Woman.
The yielding of our wills to His. For His purpose.
For His Glory.
I praise the God who created everything. You God, do not make mistakes. You are a God of purpose, order, and precision. What you have created, you say is good. Praise your name, Creator of All.
May we yield as all of creation does, to Your order, will and purpose. May we yield, bend and be molded to our Creator and flee from making You into our own image. May we Praise the name of our Creator. Jesus. Lord of All. Amen.

  1. With this thought on the moon illuminating the sun, one could go very deep into comparing the relationship of husband & wife, God & man, God & woman, God & Jesus. You gave me great things to think on today. Blessings,<
