“In your anger do not sin”
Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
and do not give the devil a foothold.
Ephesians 4:26-27

I know my title really grabbed your attention, didn’t it? Well it is true, yet I am not here to tell you about my hubby’s flaws and why I am mad at him at any given moment. I am here to tell you that God is faithful to transform my anger into useful fuel for prayer when I am willing to surrender it all to Him.

Now here is the really fun part. I confess I am a bad girl. My hubby is very gracious and he calls this behavior “fresh”. I am not bread. I do not come in fresh, moldy or stale states.
But when I am not being fresh and giving him a Miss Smarty Pants sassy answer, I am mostly talking behind his back. Yup. I do that too. I am REAL bad. I am fresh and I talk behind my hubby’s back.

The good news is when I talk behind his back (except when I am being fresh to his face, of course), I am talking to God about him. This is what I want to share with you today: The importance of praying for your husband instead of grumbling, complaining or cursing about him. Do I need to remind you I am guilty of all? Of course you’re not. Just me. No worries. There are times I have to work harder at being vigilant. There are times I am tempted not to pray. But I also know the power of prayer and he has called me from work some days and shared something that was so specific to answered prayer that it is mind boggling! Also he has thanked me when he himself has experienced the effects of prayer firsthand.

I have been wanting to share this simple little craft and prayer “tool”  that I made awhile back because in creating it, I was inspired and encouraged to continue to pray. I am always looking to find creative ways to incorporate prayer and express prayers in various forms, so this was just fun! I thought it would be a nice fit for Darlene’s Titus 2sdays link up today at Time Warp Wife.

I used Nancy Leigh DeMoss’s 31 Days of Praying For Your Husband and got an inexpensive small journal.
Initially I was only going to write out the prayers, and some scripture but then I decided to add some pictures to remind me of the blessings, memories and history of our relationship. I am including some pictures here of this little book. You can make a little Prayer Book for your hubby or not, but either way praying for your hubby is one of the greatest investments you can make for your marriage, your family and your life. I love that once I finished the book I was able to go through again and again, praying the scriptures and seeing the subject of my prayers right alongside. Reminders of His grace, love and faithfulness.

Hope you like it and let me know if you give it a try. It really is easy and I am a big advocate of writing out scripture. I printed favorite pictures off the computer. I personalized the prayers. I added some of the scriptures from Nancy’s references. I really just love this simple to make, portable prayer book. I am getting ready to use it again…because I am REAL mad at him lately…just playing with you! I, too, am a creative person and I LOVE this idea! I can't wait to run to the store and get a journal to use 🙂 I have had 31 Days to Pray For Your Spouse coming into my email each day and I'm sad to say that I stopped using them after the first few days. But I did save them. So now I'm going to go back and print them out and try your creative project 🙂 blessings to you and your hubby.

First time commenting on your journal; I did enjoy reading your thoughts about praying for your husband and the prayer journal you started. I pray pretty much every day for my hubby (if I pray for the day, I do pray for him). I have to admit, I can be “fresh” at times too. Thanks for the reminder to pray for our spouses!betty

Love your post! Yes, the title did grab my attention…The same holds true for husbands.Sometimes, I could almost get peeved with God, much like Jonah did. My wife does something that offends me, so I take the issue to God in prayer…and God suddenly wants to start talking about MY heart…and then wants to start talking about HER needs! He's sneaky that way…

Always great to meet another “sass mouth.” I was led to pray regularly for my husband beginning a few weeks ago, and haven't stopped. (bless his heart, he asked for another full month after the first one.) It wasn't that I didn't pray for him, it just wasn't a regular daily habit. Now,I pray aloud as he dresses for the day. It's our new morning “date.” Anything Christian women can do to encourage prayer for our loved ones is a beautiful thing.Keep being bad!Peace and good to you.
