I Am a Planner Girl: The Master Planner and Me

origin_5402329418 (1)

O LORD, you are my God;
I will exalt you and praise your name,
for in perfect faithfulness
you have done marvelous things,
things planned long ago.
Isaiah 25:1

I wrote this short post in 2012 as a guest contributor for 5 Minutes for Mom’s  faith based sister website 5 Minutes for Faith. I believe is still one of the the most honest and revealing posts I have ever written. It is one of those moments of observing who I am in my humanity, and who I am through the eyes of grace. When I wrote this, I wanted to show what I believed the root of the struggle was really all about for me and how I choose to continue to trust, even though I stumble, fall and fail. Because the One who upholds me in my imperfection, is Perfect, and I am free to be me…imperfectly.

I’ve pulled it out of the archives to share again, as Planner Boot Camp approaches. I pray it blesses those who read it for the first time. I hope it gives insight into the heart of Planning with Purpose and my heart in Planner Boot Camp.

Thank you for taking the time to read. I pray it blesses you wherever you are in your own walk of faith.  More

When The Cat Pukes on Your Planner-Thoughts on Messy Signs From God

I know what you’re probably thinking to yourself…EW- who would ever write about cat puke on  anything, let alone their planner.

Well, friends, welcome to my world. It’s a place that is fun to visit, but if you are queasy, you do not want to live here with me. Quite honestly, I think God has unique ways of communicating with His children. I know that for me, when there is a point to be made or a lesson that I need to learn, God clearly shares when His ways and my ways are not in alignment. Sometimes this is a messy lesson for me.

The Appeal of Planners and Trusting God with Our Fairy Tale Plans

Planning our days requires nothing more than a blank piece of paper and pen. Why then this crazy desire of many to have elaborately designed and decorated pages to squeeze into colorful boxes To Do lists,  places to go, reminders and so much more?

I have a theory and you may agree or not agree but the fact is, I believe life is messy. I also believe when our individual lives get messy, and difficult -oh and, um, please let me know if your life is not messy and/or difficult so I can come move in with you immediately. More

Today, I am at my friend, Amelia’s blog sharing a few planner tips for my planner pals and anyone who enjoys gleaning messy life lessons from afar!

Keep Calm and Plan On…

WP_20150207_11_49_21_Pro

It would only seem reasonable that I had to write a poem about planning… so this tumbled out of me and found it’s way into my journal during the last week of Planner Boot Camp. I dedicate this to all my Planner Peeps!

As we celebrate the end of the 1st Official Planner Boot Camp, I have a drawing for my PBC Graduates for a Planner Goody Pack (Rafflecopter #1) and a separate drawing for a “Keep Calm and Carry On” journal open for ALL (Rafflecopter #2)!

Keep Calm and Plan On…and one more thing…be sure and Journal the Journey!
