WELCOME!
We are working our way through 21 days of creative prompts over the days of Summer (June and July). New to my website? Head here: Who I am. If you need more info about this writing adventure, head over to the Summer Journal PAGE. It’s never too late to jump in, begin right where you are.
Whether the singing of birds in the morning, gulls by the beachside, or your favorite songs played over and over all Summer long- we are taking it easy for the weekend, and journaling our favorite songs of Summer.
Option 1: What are the sounds that bring to mind the music of Summer to you? What are the noises that remind you of Summer?
OR write about a favorite song that always makes you think of Summer days.
Option 2: Brainstorm a Summer Playlist in your journal. It’s up to you, if you want to actually make it. BUT enjoy the process of thinking of the songs that you want to include on that playlist and why, then create the title too.
Option 3: Springboard off these song stems and see where it leads! You can just write the title, or bit of lyric and then , freely write whatever memories, thoughts that come to mind…no judgment, no criticism, just write what comes. Or jump off a song bite you choose/recall yourself!
- Saturday, in the park, I think it was the 4th of July…
- I’m walking on sunshine…
- Hot fun in the Summertime…
- Under the Boardwalk…
- Here Comes the Sun…
- Summer Breeze, makes me feel fine…
- It’s a cruel, cruel Summer…
- Sittin’ on the dock of the bay…
Option 4: Memory Lane- ANY summer music memory-maybe a concert you experienced, or participated in? Whatever, whenever…what comes to your mind?
Happy writing,
Enthusiastically, Dawn
