That Smell…(Day 19)

Did you know the word smell is neutral? But if I said the word odor…it’s another story. As in stinky. But if I say aroma, you would say, ahhhh. Because that is a pleasant smell. Today we will write about our nose…it always knows, the flavor of fruit wherever ot grows...Oh dear, I digressed! Some of you will be picturing in your minds a Toucan selling fruity cereal (loaded with sugar). If you have no idea what I am referring to- just Google Froot Loops!

Speaking of smells. Let’s write about the smell of seasons. Write about the smells that belong to each season in your perception. Think about the smells you associate with each one. Now take a few moments and see if there is one that just makes you smile, or one you look forward to the most each time that time of year rolls around. Write – now!

A book has got smell. A new book smells great. An old book smells even better. An old book smells like ancient Egypt. -Ray Bradbury

I love the smell right after a storm. -Elijah Wood

When I write about a 15-year old, I jump, I return to the days when I was that age. It’s like a time machine. I can remember everything. I can feel the wind. I can smell the air. Very actually. Very vividly. -Haruki Murakami
