today?
Do I see the tender story that is
right now, unfolding
before my eyes?
Or are my eyes dimmed to the beauty
and majesty of small things
in hidden places?
What thief steals my attention?
What robber takes me far from this
fleeting, precious moment?
Is holiness not found in silence,
in secret places?
What will I trade
for the little time before me,
but the brief mist I am,
which belongs to
God alone.
