There are a lot of things in life that come to mind when I consider the the things I am over, at sixty years of age. Wearing uncomfortable shoes comes to mind. Trying to impress anyone. Looking for the BEST planner. Or closest parking spot anywhere. Rushing things that take time. Keeping up with trends (or the news). I could go on, but I imagine you are here to write, and so write we will.

Prompt 15: Is it Over Yet?
The great thing about journaling prompts like these is to remember is there really is no wrong response. What comes to your mind is a good place to begin. The best thing is to trust that direction and go with it. Set your timer and keep that pen moving.
Option 1 – Think about the things you couldn’t wait to end. Or anything you wanted to hurry up. What comes to mind? It’s ironic that most things take more time than we like to be finished. Whether with baking, or painting, or creating of all kinds. Write about something you wanted to rush, but in retrospect realize the time was needful. See what comes to mind.
Option 2 – Think of all the things in life you are over. Barbie dolls, lip gloss, platform shoes, mini-skirts, rollerblades,Tom Cruise. I dunno, just go with a brainstorm session with your brain and forgive me mine! I bet there will be a few surprises in your list if you let the pen ink flow along with your mind.
Option 3- Random springboards. Just respond to whichever of these makes your eyelid twitch and your pen hand itch- get writing!
- The cow jumped over the moon…
- Put a fork in me…
- I’m so done with…
- One thing I am over…
- I thought I was over___________________, but…
- Over everything else…
- One thing I hope never ends is…
- When I am overwhelmed…
- It ain’t over till it’s over with regard to…
- Somewhere over the rainbow…
Option 4- write a Haiku in response to the prompt OR the image I took at Cape Cod this summer (the birds on the wire with the setting sun in the background).
Option 5 – Journal about one thing you need to get over to move forward. This can be in any area of your life: spiritual, physical, health, financial, personal growth, emotional health, creativity etc. It could be an obstacle, a way of thinking, an attitude, perspective, or outlook.
Have fun with this one and as always remember take this prompt any way you want it and write!
Happy Journaling!
