Speak Life, Savior

Speak Life, Savior

This morning’s meditation was John 14:6. It is amazing to me that God’s word is an infinite source of inspiration. Not a surprise, just an amazing truth. I’ve been quietly following the August Scripture schedule from the generous Jennifer at Prayerful Planner. I use it as I prepare my heart for daily Bible reading. This morning, my heart poured out a poem (at least by my own poetic standards). This is the Lord’s doing, a gift and surprise to me when He allows it. This writing and time of creating is truly my purest intimacy with my Creator. May it be a blessing to you today.

Speak Life, Savior

How can I speak life today, Jesus?
How can I find my way?
How will I face the darkness
while the sun hides and
night drowns the day?
How can I know your holiness
when shame tells me
hide away?
How can I trust what I can’t yet see-
what my heart longs to know for sure?
My questions are endless,
prayers unanswered- my faith
challenged, insecure.
Yet, I know the words you have spoken
from the pages, old and new
and I’m trusting not in my feelings,
but in the One who is Faithful and True.
So steady my feet, my good Savior
Keep me on Your sure path,
let me drink of your water-
as I live through this aftermath.
For I believe you are faithful,
I know you’re always the same-
And I know the One who spoke life into me
who makes walk those who are lame.

All praise to my Savior.
