Does The Pressure To Be Best Kill Our Best Efforts?

Today, I’m doing something a little different. Today as  I walked my dog, Banjo, I decided to share my heart.  On video.

I’ll flesh this out more on paper tomorrow.

For today, ruminate with me.

Then come back and see how these initial thoughts articulated are clarified and revised for a blog post.

As a good friend says about me, ” You write better than you talk!” AND the woman loves me. Haha!

This is my story, this is my song…

Early in my Blogging journey, I did my first 31 day challenge on the theme of Thanksgiving. It was an instrumental exercise in building writing momentum and discipline. I discovered camaraderie, fellowship and support for my beginning blogging years. More

Addressing Death While Walking with a Boy?

About that title- don’t worry! These are just a merging of the two poems I  will read for you today! My special treat for you. I am giving the gift of poetry to you…but you can just listen.

I spent a bit of time recording some spontaneous poetry readings earlier. I did one on Periscope and the other on my Facebook Page  @ Enthusiastically, Dawn.

Both of these poems are from the the anthology our local RI group of writers published earlier in the year.

I hope you enjoy them. Pardon the chair turning during the Facebook reading…I  should never sit in a twisty chair while reading poetry!

Three Years – A Spontaneous Poetry Reading

This morning I was compelled to write this poem after a friend’s comment about mortality. I am one who contemplates mortality regularly, as well as a plethora of other human dilemmas; but today the words came, as they sometimes do, and I yielded to their arrival capturing their essence on paper, then freeing them with my voice.

“The “show business,” which is so incorporated into our view of Christian work today, has caused us to drift far from Our Lord’s conception of discipleship. It is instilled in us to think that we have to do exceptional things for God; we have not. We have to be exceptional in ordinary things, to be holy in mean streets, among mean people, surrounded by sordid sinners. That is not learned in five minutes.”  Oswald Chambers

Hello Journal Keepers and Fellow Travelers!

This post today sticks to the original as I have had a rather busy 48 hours resolving this crazy ear issue I am dealing with…I am sure God will teach me something through it!

As I wrote As I wrote the title out last night, I actually wrote “Exploring the Extraordinary”.

Hmmm…so maybe that could be an alternative prompt! Exploring the extraordinary ordinariness of everyday…? Ha! Have at any of what you see here, as you will.

Meanwhile, quick question for you. I hesitate to start yet another Facebook Group…but will let you decide if this is something you want, I will do it. You all can post and share freely…I got so many e-mails and questions I have reconsidered and if you all want a community to share easily we can have that available. I just need to know if you would like that! I will keep it open to allow everyone easy access and entry then we will decide from there the details.

Yay of nay for Facebook group- let me know?

Meanwhile your prompt and today’s You Tube video are below!

Thanks for being here!
