Introducing Planning with Purpose: 31 Days of Planner Tips – October 1-31

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” ~Anatole France

Welcome to my new series for October. Hands down this year my topic for the Nester’s 31 Days Series, had to be planners and  planning. I am pretty excited about the topic and it is one that is near and dear to my heart. My own history with planner love started out many moons ago. Dinosaurs still roamed the earth. Life was simpler then.

OK, OK, but truthfully, life was simpler when I used my first planner. I was attending community college, working part time, and single. Friends, life was a breeze. I remember my first little At- A -Glance Agenda like it was yesterday. What prompted me to use a planner was actually my first Personal Training Job. Before then, I don’t know what I did…I just went to classes, worked wacky hours with little sleep and basically showed up, by the grace of God, in all the places I was supposed to be without much adieu.

Coming Soon: 31 Days of…

31 day 2

I almost fell off my chair when my dear blogging friend, Barbie (My Freshly Brewed Life) mentioned something about the 31 Days hosted by The Nester. I mean, WHAT? Where did the year go?

I have participated in the 31 Day Challenge of writing on one topic for 31 days for the past two years. It has been a blessing, a challenge, and at times, a lot of fun! I have written 31 Days of Faith Life Preservers and  31 Days of Fitting in Fitness at my old Blog Home: Beneath The Surface: Breath of Faith.

This year, I am feeling strongly about applying my coaching energy towards, 31 Days of…

31 Day Challenge Ends (Fresh Start for November- Invite!)

Congrats to all of you who have made it through 31 Days of Fitting in Fitness!
Congratulations, also, to all of my Blogging friends who have made it through the Nester’s #31Days! Thanks to the Nester for hosting this great challenge.

Our 31 Day Challenge is over today. I have been pondering our next phase from the beginning. The Holidays will be upon us in the blink of an eye, and our best intentions to fit in fitness will be squeezed out by festivities, fellowship and fun. I have so much more I want to share with you and yet, realistically, my desire for you and myself as well, is to keep it simple, straightforward and DONE, with regard to fitness. In other words, by “done” I mean that you are not thinking about fitting fitness in, not talking about it, not admiring the plans of others BUT actually to be living out small steps to building a new habit into your (our) life (lives)- or reviving an old habit that has died, as the case may be!
So, instead of making a new plan for November, after a brief conversation (banter on Facebook) with Susie, I think that the best plan for November is to  DO the Fitting in Fitness Challenge  AGAIN! From the top, and for those of us who did it, we can do it better, for those who considered it but bailed halfway through – here is your FRESH NEW START!
There were a lot more topics in fitness I did not cover, so much more I wanted to share,  BUT maybe could do -going forward. I really felt led to write more on, motivation, inspiration and encouragement with regard to the topic. There were many thoughts, prompts, partial drafts and ideas I had that I felt, due to time constraints and other limitations, unable to share.
Also, honestly, this month has been a very difficult month, personally. The last two weeks of our challenge have been increasingly difficult and I fell short on the C25K routine in Week 4 (only squeezing in 1 of the 3 workouts). I missed 2 days in the last 2 weeks of The Core and More Challenge and did not bother to try to catch up and a couple of times I combined days. There, see. Not perfect. But, November we can try again. Which leads me directly to you…
Will you join me in November as do a Second Chance Fitting in Fitness Challenge?
Shall we join together and take on the Holidays by Fitting in Fitness, aiming for a little or a lot, adjusting as we need to make it doable, right in the middle of our, busy, bloggy, blustering, right NOWs? Something is better than nothing, and who doesn’t love a Do Over?

In December, I am considering a 12 Days of Fitness something- stay tuned for more on that one. Meantime I will be working on our January Fitness Challenge- which I thought I would originally do ast the end of October’s Challenge, but as you now know, am opting out of that plan.

As for me, I am skipping the Optional Pre/Post Test and will just jump in fresh tomorrow with a new month of Fitting in Fitness:

 Come what may,
come what might-
if you are still not in,
now is the time to make it right!
Let’s Do it!
Grab the Scribd Document here or e-mail ( me for the Fitting in Fitness Packet.
Let me know if you have any questions and I will see you for the Sunday Post, for sharing conclusions, thoughts  from the 31 Day Journey.
Thank you for dropping in, offering words of encouragement and for your participation (however frequent or infrequent). May God bless you with health and wellness all of the days of your life…and secure you in His grace and truth forever.

Announcing: 31 Days of Fitting in Fitness in October (The Nester’s Challenge)

Heads up! If you have not heard the news yet, here it is: In October I will be joining in for my second year at the Nester’s place to link arms with Bloggers from around the world to share in a fabulous endeavor: The 31 Day Challenge is the chance to blog on anything that sets your little heart on fire!

Last year I shared 31 Days of Faith Life Preservers. I jumped in and just did it, so to speak. So pick a topic, check out the details and join in, or just come by and find a topic you want to grow in for the month of October. Since I have found blogging does nothing for my derriere, except increas my seat girth, I have decided to get myself, and anyone who cares to join in, MOVING a tad bit more.

A few things about the 31 Days of Fitting in Fitness:
You do not need special equipment. As a matter of fact you don’t need any equipment. Just your body. I am hoping to use an online sharing site for a nifty 31 Day printout. Wish me luck, say a prayer and we will see.
2. There will be three “Challenges” to follow; you can do one, none, or all. I will also be randomly posting my thoughts on just about anything fitness. Maybe you will learn something new, maybe you will hate my guts. Either way, it will be an interesting 31 days. Disclaimer: I may randomly change my mind at any time about anything-you are warned.
3. I promise YOU CAN DO THIS. I will be sucking it up alongside you. I have been a big slacker since retiring from teaching Boot Camps at a local Martial Arts gym this past year. Combine this fact with a husband who likes to bake like Paula Deen loves butter and you see where I am going with this?
PLUS- everything and I mean everything is modifiable! And I promise never to swear at you when you are working your pettutti off. I believe in you and that something is better than nothing, a little movement can go a long way. We an do this!
So, Are You Ready?

God willing I will have something posted September 30th, and we will start October 1.
Lord have mercy.
Stay Tuned….

The Great Hymns: Blessed Assurance {Faith Life Preservers-Day 8}

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly
as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom,
and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs
with gratitude in your hearts to God.
Colossians 3:16

I remember as a new believer, walking into a small church
and singing Hymns from a Hymnal.
I did not understand the words, but because of the solid theology
that was written within these great worship songs,
seeds were planted in my heart and soul.
I was not always comfortable and I did not get it,
all these songs about the blood of the lamb.

Years later and after having read both the Old and New Testament,
I began to appreciate the beauty and depth found in these great songs of faith.

I began to have less appreciation for some of the songs presented in various congregations which seemed to be more chanting words over and over again or sounding like the music I listened to before coming to a saving knowledge of God.

I was gifted by a sweet sister in the Lord my very own Hymnal one day.
I adored it, and read it. I am not the best singer but I do love my words!
I enjoyed seeing the names of those who wrote them, and the scripture behind the words that were sung during the services I attended.

I absolutely believe that the great Hymns are Faith Life Preservers!
They remind me of the riches I have in Christ, they exalt the One True Living God,
and they glorify His name and the history of His namesake.

Although I could not find Blessed Assurance in the Hymnal I have, it is a favorite
of mine written by Fanny Crosby,
who has written many beautiful Hymns in her lifetime.

Do you have a favorite Hymn?
