But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God;  from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing.”

Journaling MY Journey [with Jesus]: A Never-ending Story

Life is a never-ending exploration of the mind, the spirit and the soul. ~Monique Moore

Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. Jude 1:3

Forty Days ago we started a journey and now we come to the end…or do we? I wrapped up the week with Jude and one chapter of sobering reality is written there. I found myself digging into my Matthew Henry Commentary, something I rarely do. One thing I try to do is compare scripture with scripture, but a decent commentary can be a help on occasion. It can also be a hinderance if one is not careful. See, God’s Word is a perfect illuminator of God’s Word. I have wrestled long and hard with certain passages of Scripture. I believe it was and is God’s will that I do so. There are reasons specific passages leave us wondering. The reason being, ultimately, it should lead us smack dab into His presence.

Journaling through the Book of James (JYJWJ)

WP_20150609_08_30_35_Pro

Dear Friend,

I am writing to you from the path, and checking in to see how you are doing. I hope this letter finds you well. I hope you have continued on the journey we began in May.  I have been camped out since the last time we touched base in the Book of James, and I have to tell you it is a great place for we who believe to camp. I have been journaling and praying my way through the five power packed chapters and I believe you might benefit by doing the same. Oh, and if you need an energy bar to get you going along the path with a bit more zip, check out this audio version of James via Bible Gateway as read by Max Mclean. So many options and ways to study, reflect and dig deeper into Scripture these days. Of course, I always prefer to have my hard copy of the Bible (or twenty!) but, I often will use the online options for quick searches for parallel verses, and references, mostly when I write but occasionally when I am reading.
