I am heading into new territory, I hope you will continue to journey with me.  I will be sharing a few poems as I am led, on writing for the purpose of healing. I may share  poems written during my teen years in conjunction with current ones I am writing now in my fifties.

Here is the first poem for the upcoming series: Poetry (as) Pathway. I encourage you to respond with your own writing, as you feel led.

…we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up. Hebrews 12:1

Good Morning, Friends. Do you recall on my last post I mentioned I’d written two poems that morning? Well here is the second, based on my meditation and reflection of the readings in Hebrews. A lot really stood out to me, and as you know, every time we read scripture new insights are revealed. This is why we never grow weary reading the same books. If we approach the Word of the Living God with expectation, humility and sincerity, we will hear new things.  I know this is true for me. I pray it is for you too. Our God is an infinite wellspring of inspiration.

Great is His faithfulness!

Sometimes words capture us and hold us hostage until we figure out why they resonate so. Have you ever had that happen? You’re drawn to a quote, Bible Verse, comment, song…or a book cover.

The words keep calling you to dance, at least in your mind.

Grace for All Seasons (End of Summer Reflections)

Narragansett Town Beach - as it looked on the morning of September 1, 2015 - beautiful in every season!

Narragansett Town Beach – as it looked on the morning of September 1, 2015 – beautiful in every season!

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:1-5

Here we are, friends. Day Two, September. Seasonal change is upon us once more, and as sure as the tides ebb and flow each day, we are all adjusting our rutters as we ready ourselves for the days ahead. Can’t you just feel the change in the air? Though the Summer temperatures linger a bit, and we will enjoy them as they are given, the thrust to batten down the hatches and head out full speed ahead into the final four months of 2015 is a palpable energy. The return of routines, activities and  increased momentum will continue to challenge each one of us to order our days with careful consideration in light of the season we are in, and the seasons we’ve yet to know.

So many wonderful things vie for our attention, don’t they? So many opinions, opportunities, possibilities. But, the question remains. What is calling you from the quietness of your being now? What season are YOU in? Forget that Fall is slowly preparing for its debut, and I saw two leaves fall, whimsically before me,  as I drove toward the beach this morning. More
