When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. Viktor Frankl
I get a lot of questions around this time of year about planning, planning methods and planner products. I have spent a good part of my life thinking long and hard about Time and Planning. I’ve had a wealth of experience helping people plan better as they attempt to adopt healthier habits and cultivate new lifestyles. Some might say I am a planner person. But the truth is, I am a planner girl by need NOT nature.
People often see me with my notebook in hand and comment about how organized I must be. They assume a planner has some magical power to make one organized! Trust me, a planner.. is not a fast pass to planner perfection and organized living. No book, but one, has power to supernaturally transform us.

Bullet Journal is for those who feel there are few platforms as powerful as the blank page. ~Ryder Carroll
The first time I heard the words bullet and journal together, I wondered what the heck a bullet journal might include? Fortunately those communicating a love for this style of journaling did not look like potential serial killers, so I mentally filed away the information for future exploration.
Interestingly, had I been using the Bujo (short for Bullet Journaling ) method at the time, I could have made a quick “bullet” in my notebook with a note for further exploration. More importantly I could have found that note when I decided to act upon that action. Which brings me one of my favorite aspects of the Bullet Journal- the hope of ever finding anything again in my rambling journaling entries…in a timely manner.

“Every man should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past.” ~Henry Ward Beecher
Well, here we are on the brink of a new year…again! I am pondering and praying, perhaps as you have been, all the possibilities. It got me thinking maybe in my ancientness, I might have a few bits of wisdom to share. Or not. You’ll have to read to see, won’t you. Ahem. Read on for my momentary brilliance…or lack thereof.

Planning our days requires nothing more than a blank piece of paper and pen. Why then this crazy desire of many to have elaborately designed and decorated pages to squeeze into colorful boxes To Do lists, places to go, reminders and so much more?
I have a theory and you may agree or not agree but the fact is, I believe life is messy. I also believe when our individual lives get messy, and difficult -oh and, um, please let me know if your life is not messy and/or difficult so I can come move in with you immediately. More
