I Am a Planner Girl: The Master Planner and Me

origin_5402329418 (1)

O LORD, you are my God;
I will exalt you and praise your name,
for in perfect faithfulness
you have done marvelous things,
things planned long ago.
Isaiah 25:1

I wrote this short post in 2012 as a guest contributor for 5 Minutes for Mom’s  faith based sister website 5 Minutes for Faith. I believe is still one of the the most honest and revealing posts I have ever written. It is one of those moments of observing who I am in my humanity, and who I am through the eyes of grace. When I wrote this, I wanted to show what I believed the root of the struggle was really all about for me and how I choose to continue to trust, even though I stumble, fall and fail. Because the One who upholds me in my imperfection, is Perfect, and I am free to be me…imperfectly.

I’ve pulled it out of the archives to share again, as Planner Boot Camp approaches. I pray it blesses those who read it for the first time. I hope it gives insight into the heart of Planning with Purpose and my heart in Planner Boot Camp.

Thank you for taking the time to read. I pray it blesses you wherever you are in your own walk of faith.  More

Are You Ready for Planner Boot Camp?

When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. Viktor Frankl

I get a lot of questions around this time of year about planning, planning methods and planner products. I have spent a good part of my life thinking long and hard about Time and Planning. I’ve had a wealth of experience helping people plan better as they attempt to adopt healthier habits and cultivate new lifestyles. Some might say I am a planner person. But the truth is,  I am a planner girl by need NOT nature.

People often see me with my notebook in hand and comment about  how organized I must be. They assume a planner has some magical power to make one organized! Trust me,  a planner..  is not a fast pass to planner perfection and organized living. No book, but one, has power to supernaturally transform us.

Hey there friend…this may be my longest post of the year. But I hope you will grab a cup of something delicious and linger. I am sharing my wrap up thoughts on last year’s One Word, and revealing  briefly my new word for 2017.

It’s OK to read it in two parts if you like…but the way things have been going in my neck of the woods, I need to put it all out here in one post!

I appreciate you reading and commenting…

What The Rose Knows

img-20120603-793

One year ago today I wrote about the lesson I learned from the beautiful peach rose at the end of our walkway. Today, the post, which I shared on my blog, showed up in my Facebook feed and I read my own words from exactly one year ago. Ironically, I had just come in from walking the dog, and it is a beautiful Fall day with afternoon chirping crickets…It’s like Deja Vu.

I hope you won’t mind, I edited the post down a bit, but I wanted to share the message, modified and magically new.I pulled from the original what was significant to me today.

If you have written for any length of time at all, you start to see some themes that continuously re-surface. I pray that the essence of the writing speaks to your heart…

I linked the original post at the end of this version if you want to see how and what I extracted.
