Illation

When the world clamors loud, we can run to the honesty of nature and trust the quiet communication of a poem. Poetry, photographs, paintings and sculptures- all creative efforts  speak to us in a language all their own. Let’s listen.

Does The Pressure To Be Best Kill Our Best Efforts?

31day2016

Today, I’m doing something a little different. Today as  I walked my dog, Banjo, I decided to share my heart.  On video.

I’ll flesh this out more on paper tomorrow.

For today, ruminate with me.

Then come back and see how these initial thoughts articulated are clarified and revised for a blog post.

As a good friend says about me, ” You write better than you talk!” AND the woman loves me. Haha!

This is my story, this is my song…

Hello, Friends!

Have you ever gathered around a table at the coffee shop with friends and enjoyed a nice cup of something steamy and great conversation? Well I am here to invite you to a new place to gather for some faith-based sharing in the blogosphere called Faith n’ Friends. I am excited and honored to be part of this new team of writers. I am looking forward to connecting with many as we share the journey travelling our unique paths…together!

The Day That Got Away (When Things Don’t Go As You Planned)

One thing you can count on in life is the fact that time does indeed  go on. Some days the best laid out plans fall by the way side and we can feel discouraged that we have not been productive or frustrated with the way things have turned out. May I offer a word of encouragement ? From one who has had to learn the lesson repeatedly and is, maybe finally getting it, I offer you this simple truth:

God never leaves His throne.

Friends, this one simple reality can bring peace to the day that just snapped, crackled and popped! Better still acknowledging and affirming this in your unplanned moments will keep you from snapping, crackling or popping. Can I get an Amen?

The Planner’s Day Off

WP_20140905_07_31_43_Pro-001

Weekends. The end of a week’s worth of triumphs,  trials, To -Dos, and travelings.  Friday finds us ready for a break from the routine we’ve tried to keep up with all week long. Breaks are important. They help us return to our routines with happy anticipation instead of  drudgery. Saturday hints at  the possibility of a day of rest on the horizon. Ideally we take a day or at least some time, to renew, relax and refresh ourselves. Hopefully we pause to reflect upon our days, choices, actions and words. Some days even the Planner needs a day off. To this end, I offer you permission to ponder. To cease from planning. Even for a little while. This is not wasted time, my friends. It is needful for your soul!

“Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10
