Thoughts on Revelation and Coming to The Light in 2017

img_8376-001

Hey there friend…this may be my longest post of the year. But I hope you will grab a cup of something delicious and linger. I am sharing my wrap up thoughts on last year’s One Word, and revealing  briefly my new word for 2017.

It’s OK to read it in two parts if you like…but the way things have been going in my neck of the woods, I need to put it all out here in one post!

I appreciate you reading and commenting…

I wrote this poem this afternoon and am sharing it here today. My One Word for 2016 is Revelation and I could sense the rhythm of the words as they came to me…so, being it is Sunday, and I am Writing Redeemed, it seems appropriate I share this here today.

Originally, I thought I’d share the poem I wrote for my daughter to commemorate her 16th birthday, but I think I will hold off sharing it here for now.

May these words be meaningful to you today…

I also want to thank so many of you who reached out to me through e-mails and messages, telling me you are finding these posts are stirring you and speaking to you in deeper ways…I know this is a God thing, and I am grateful…and I pray that we discover His gift to us through the words He allows me to share here in this series. As always, I am with you on this journey. And He is with us. Thank you for being here.

I’ve always loved horses. I’m pretty sure most young girls dream of horses in their future at some point, in their princess years. Horses are associated with princes after all, and happily ever after tales. The stuff that dreams are made of, right?

The Pen Reclaimed

It’s National Poetry Month, and I have made some decisions regarding the direction of my writing as reflected in my reclaimed pen.

My message to you…fight the good fight, fellow pen-holders. Write as if your life depends on it…

For some of us, it is not about recognition, acknowledgment or acceptance. It is for life itself we write.

I write for life. I write to open the eyes, arouse the soul. Not least of all, starting with my own.

This is my revelation, this is my truth.

For what purpose or whom do you write?
