Mom and I in happier days!

To say that 2018 was a difficult year would be an understatement. When your New Year begins with being abruptly displaced from your home without warning and ends with the loss of a loved one, well words are sorta hard to find.

I spent most of 2018 helping my Mom stay alive. I cannot write much beyond that now- it’s still too new and unreal. I’m still settling into the reality of her being gone and this new year starting without her. I’m still struggling to figure out who I am without her in my life, and what’s next. Most of all I am missing the woman I called Mom.

Journaling My One Word Journey AND Five Quick Tips for Finding Yours

Well it’s that time of year again. The time of year when many choose to make resolutions, set intentions, carve out goals, and plan their dreams for the fast approaching new year.

Since 2012 I have been joining in the One Word trend which continues to grow in popularity. I often begin to reflect upon my One Word choice in November or so which is when I allow myself to begin cautiously  considering the year to come. I say cautiously, because I want to be careful not to miss out on being present and available in the last months of the current year. As someone who reflects regularly in time, I believe there is a natural unfolding of occurrences which make it easy to tune in to what is needed on all levels- mentally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, and in all areas that one needs to grow and grapple with in their daily life.

I believe if we are in tune with God, ourselves and others- we will hear a plethora of possibilities that might be overwhelming. So many choices- and yet we want to limit ourselves to one?

As a new year starts many consider setting goals.

As I consider my goals, I can’t help but consider the One who is my ultimate goal… my aim always,  but articulated and affirmed in my One Word 2018.

As we move forward into all God has for us in this new year, may we affirm and acknowledge Him, trusting His purposes and plans will always come to pass. May our will be in harmony with His.

My Arrow and Aim for 2018

This past first day of 2018, I sat with my freshly brewed coffee, open Bible, and journal pondering the year and pages before me.  I had already reconciled the fact that I felt no specific nudging toward a new word for 2018- I was ready to continue walking with my One Word for 2017 (Light)  into this new year. I also realized I was enjoying following the current scripture reading plan I was following, so no need to change that either. More
