Gifts for the Dreamers, Writers and Otherwise Creative Friends on Your List

I got a message earlier this week from a friend inquiring about “journaling” gifts and asking for my suggestions. She gave me a brief description of who she was buying for and wondered what I would specifically recommend.

Well, shopping with other people’s money is my joy! Even if only in my head. Opinions I have, and opinions I share. So, since this is a question I get often, I have decided to share some of my very favorite repeat purchase products for journaling.

I’ll catch my planner people with another post.

Random Journal Day #51 with Featured Journal Keeper: Deanna Wiseburn

Deanna

It is the first Friday of the month and you know what that means, friends! It is Random Journal Day in this here neck of the woods. So Journal Keepers, grab your journals and join us. We will be here through Monday about noon. Meander on over and link your post anytime until then!

Each month we feature a different Journal Keeper, and this month is no different. I am very happy to present Author and Blogger Deanna Wiseburn as our special guest this month. I appreciate Deanna’s heart for journaling the hard stuff. Deanna has recognized journal writing as a strong component in managing her health and well-being.  She has also used journaling as a tool to develop her faith and further her writing life. Deanna blogs at The Pure Sacrifice and we have become friends through blogging, and a mutual interest in Mental Health issues which she often writes about at her place. All that to say-

Here she is and here we go!

The Journal (Guest Post by Bethany Taylor)

An image of Bethany’s Journal I snapped after Writer’s Group.

Today I am opening up my place in the Blogosphere for another share from my talented local Rhode Island Writer’s Group. Bethany’s exquisite poem about her journal, not to mention that she brought the Red Beauty to class with her, made this hard-core Journal Keeper jump for joy. I asked her if I could share it with my online community and she said yes! Hooray for journal keepers everywhere!

Fellow Journal Keepers, consider this your reminder that Random Journal Day takes place THIS Friday! Yes, it’s that time again, so rummage through your archives and get that tattered page ready, I’ll be looking forward to peeking into your journal. If you have never participated consider this your official invitation. You can find out more by checking out the Journaling tab or just click here.

Choosing Joy in The Journey Journals (Product Review)

WP_20150224_10_57_20_Pro

As many of you already know, I am passionate about journaling. I am a regular journal keeper and have been for many years- too many to mention at this point. I love to share my enthusiasm for the Journal Keeping habit with my friends and adhere to the philosophy “One can never have too many books” …blank ones preferably, with lots of room to write thoughts, dreams, and randoms. I have also discovered that many desire to keep a journal but struggle with what to write on a regular basis, beyond the superficial. Here is where the features offered in the Success Choice journals reign victoriously!

…But, I am Redeemed (My One Word and RJD Link January 2015)

I usually count my blessings daily and my heart’s desire is to continuously give thanks and praise to God, though I confess I fall short. So despite a year of obstacles, challenges and downright spiritual attack, I found myself hesitant to consider my year in retrospect. I was dragging my feet even though I usually start pondering in Fall, all of the things God has been revealing to me. I’m not sure if it was the accident on October 31st which was the straw that broke the camel’s back, or the fact that Thanksgiving was later than usual, thrusting the Christmas season upon us at breakneck speed. Either way, I found myself dragging my feet to put pen to paper about 2014. There were great blessings and great trials. Great joy, and great pain. I started the year with the word Renewal and soon realized my vision and God’s version were not the same…at all.
