Meet my therapist and faithful friend, the Journal. As one who carries a journal mostly everywhere and always, saving me a small fortune in psychiatric fees I assure you, I’m hoping to encourage you in your own  journal keeping journey whoever you are and wherever  you are headed. Whether you write for fun, work, or for some other compelling reason or whether you are a creative person looking to overcome your fear of writing or a non creative person trying to tap your creativity, the bottom line is this: You have a wellspring of inspiration within you, I hope I can help you see that which is already there.

Art Pass (Prompt 9)

I remember watching the glee in my daughter’s eyes as she painted and scribbled her way through her childhood years. I have so many pictures of her painting and I saved way too many of her early scribbles, paintings, drawings and artistic creations. Art gives us permission to be children again, free from the limitations of adulthood for a bit of time. Free to be, create, and dabble in making something from nothing. What could be more exhilarating?

Ode to the Index Card (Joy)

Honestly, I am weird. It’s ok if you agree, but as I pondered Lisa-Jo’s prompt today, I held in my hands a pack of 100 freshly pressed, brand new Index Cards and they brought me a ridiculous, undeniable joy.

Stationary, pens, cards are all grand, and truly I love them all…

but consider the Index Card, for a moment.

Creative Colored Pen Organizer (Makeover Monday)

I am happy to share with you today my very favorite (and simplest) makeover project ever! This one is simple, resourceful and downright practical. Years ago when I began scrapbooking I wants to have an accessible storage option for my pens. One that allowed the pens to stay on my desk, and stored horizontally. I also did not want to rummage through a pen case to find the color or style pen I wanted. Well, I had hung onto a shower gift container that I knew would come in handy “some day” – I KNOW you know exactly what I mean. Well, sure enough it did, and with a few tweaks, I had the best pen holder ever. I decided for makeover Monday, I would clean it up, update the paper, and share it here with you. I hope it inspires you to look around your house, be resourceful and make something useful with stuff you already have! Good luck. Who knows, maybe you still have your own baby shower caddy gift holder stored in the closet!

So, here we have a Re-Purposed Baby Bath Caddy project for Makeover Monday… enjoy!

Makeover Monday (Lap Desk)

Hello, Friends. I am cultivating creativity all month in March and maybe beyond. I have enjoyed rummaging through my many paper scraps and am getting organized since my office makeover in January. Since My One Word for the year is Renewal, it is no surprise I’m feeling inspired to make many old things new! Each Monday, I will be sharing a completed projects and joining one of my favorite places in the Blogosphere, Create with Joy for Inspire Me Monday. I hope you will find inspiration when you visit. My inner crafty chick was feeling deprived so I have given her free reign as of late!
