…we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up. Hebrews 12:1

Good Morning, Friends. Do you recall on my last post I mentioned I’d written two poems that morning? Well here is the second, based on my meditation and reflection of the readings in Hebrews. A lot really stood out to me, and as you know, every time we read scripture new insights are revealed. This is why we never grow weary reading the same books. If we approach the Word of the Living God with expectation, humility and sincerity, we will hear new things.  I know this is true for me. I pray it is for you too. Our God is an infinite wellspring of inspiration.

Great is His faithfulness!

“My ideas usually come not at my desk writing but in the midst of living.” Anais Nin

I wonder what it was that caused you to put your pen to paper. Today, yesterday, right now. I wonder also what caused you to choose to share your writing. I wonder what your motive was to write at all? Have you thought about it?

Have you thought about the weight of your words, whether you share them or suppress them?

Has something caused you to stop writing? What?

About your writing- More

I live between the rock and the hard place

where living is no better than dying,

happiness no greater than crying,

truth no different from lying.

Just for Today (A Poem of Thanksgiving)

Today I offer a few words I wrote back in 2011 when I started blogging and sharing my thoughts online. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, going through…may these words be words that edify, and multiply thanksgivings in your soul.

Seeking the Lord with Pen and Paper

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34: 17-18

I hope that you have committed to be with the Lord each day for this journey. As much as I do not want to speak too much into your times, I do not want to leave you on the path without encouragement for the journey as you seek this good thing. So let me share with you a bit about my time seeking Him with pen and paper.

Life does not always offer us ideal circumstances, perhaps that is why some of us try so hard to plan. We want to feel like we have some control over the way things go on any given day. I traverse this balance cautiously. I have walked long enough with the Lord to know that planning is good, but trusting better…even crucial. How can I plan my day and then hand over my plans with the words, “Not my will but your will, Lord.” if I don’t trust the Lord, who holds all the plans of man in His hands? How can I trust Him if I don’t take time to know Him in prayer and by seeking Him in His word?
