Three Stones

A meditation from my morning Bible reading …I actually wrote this earlier this week as I read and pondered  1 John- one of my favorite letters in the New Testament.

May you be blessed as you read my offering and as you also seek the Living Word today.

…we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up. Hebrews 12:1

Good Morning, Friends. Do you recall on my last post I mentioned I’d written two poems that morning? Well here is the second, based on my meditation and reflection of the readings in Hebrews. A lot really stood out to me, and as you know, every time we read scripture new insights are revealed. This is why we never grow weary reading the same books. If we approach the Word of the Living God with expectation, humility and sincerity, we will hear new things.  I know this is true for me. I pray it is for you too. Our God is an infinite wellspring of inspiration.

Great is His faithfulness!

Morning Meditation: Hebrews Chapters 10-13

Yahweh Sent A Savior

18 But when Yahweh appointed judges for the Israelites, he was with each judge. Yahweh rescued them from their enemies as long as that judge was alive. Yahweh was moved by the groaning of those who were tormented and oppressed. 19 But after each judge died, the people went back to their old ways and acted more corruptly than their parents. They followed, served, and worshiped other gods. They never gave up their evil practices and stubborn ways.

~Judges 2:18-19

Checklist for Christians

But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:8-11

So, I had to actually create two posts (the other is right here) about my conclusions, or better stated, ramblings, about  1 & 2  Thessalonians. So many of my favorite verses, and if you have read me for any length of time you know that I have many. OK, so the whole Bible is my favorite (except maybe Leviticus of which I am forcing myself to appreciate because it is still very important in the overall scheme of things ie. basically God is saying this is how it needs to be PEEPS! So probably it will be my favorite SOMEDAY!)

How NOT to Hear God (Journaling Your Journey with Jesus)

Rhode Island beauty! Looking up from my morning walk, I was sheltered under this beautiful flowering tree! What is it? I know I should know...but alas, do not. ;)

“God never hurries. There are no deadlines against which he must work. Only to know this is to quiet our spirits and relax our nerves.”
― A.W. Tozer

Good Morning, Friends. It is just before ten in the morning here on the East coast along the shore of Little Rhody. Spring has been whispering sweet nothings in our ears here all week. The neighborhood mantra about yard work seems to be “I’m so far behind”. I have heard this from just about every neighbor in the hood while walking the dog through our fairly pristine, in actuality, tourist/college neighborhood. Truth be told, the only yard that falls short is probably ours! But, let me not digress or sulk about my lack of domestic and gardening giftedness.
