The Journal Enthusiast

Are you a journal keeper?

Whether you are a fellow traveler on the road or one who has always wanted to be, I invite you to discover the secret world of the Journal Keeper- and discover it’s really not so secret after all.

There’s something for everyone on the journey…won’t you come along?

Dawn Paoletta is the author of Journaling for Discovery and Delight – Creative Prompts for Your Journey and a self-proclaimed Planner Tramp. She loves to juggle words, chug coffee, journal excessively and abuse hashtags. She believes caffeine enhances her personality and sporadically serves up spontaneous journaling prompts on Instagram as @TheJournalEnthusiast. Her journal archives include over 300 journals spanning 35 years of her life.

In 2018-19 she hosted a 200-Day Journaling Adventure on Instagram with participants from all over the world. Her proudest achievement is discovering a High School teacher was using her journaling prompts to inspire students to write!

Dawn hosts an online class called “Planner Boot Camp” to assist others in the benefits and joys of using paper diaries and notebooks for journaling, schedule management and creative endeavors of all kinds.

Planner Boot Camp’s popularity in addition to Dawn’s availability and willingness to provide writing inspiration regularly have helped her to become an influencer in the world of planners, journals and agendas. This led her to being interviewed by consumer trends journalist Ellen Byron and having her planner pages featured in the Wall Street Journal…TWICE: “The Trendy New Way To Organize Your Schedule: A Paper Planner” ; “Covid Spoiled Your Plans? Get a Planner, Say Devotees”.

Passionate about sharing creative writing adventures and encouraging others to explore for themselves the joy awaiting them at the end of their pen is what motivated her to write her first book. She frequently writes poetry in her head and spouts songs from all genres at random moments.

Her writing is included in the local Neighborhood Guild Creative Writers’ Group Anthology, Editions 1- 5. Dawn shares her passion, poetry and prose on her blog, Enthusiastically, Dawn and for local community events and workshops.

Passionate about merging creative writing and artistic expression along with a love for supporting local art has allowed her to collaborate in a number of collaborative efforts bringing artists and poets together to serve the community. Dawn’s poetry has been exhibited in the Wickford Art Association’s Poetry and Art event in 2017 and 2020, and 2021. Limited-edition, full color, professionally designed books cataloging the yearly exhibit are kept by the Poets House library in New York City, one of the premiere poetry libraries in the country.

Dawn fulfilled a dream in 2019 becoming a Journal To The Self Instructor which included a trip to Golden, Colorado and the amazing experience of meeting Kathleen Adams and 11 other inspiring individuals. Prior to this she participated and completed the Progoff Method of Journaling including the full series of classes: Life Context, Life Depth and Life Integration courses in the nineties at a number of weeklong retreats and workshops. These experiences have influenced her journaling lifestyle powerfully and her ability to encourage others and offer valuable feedback through various influential opportunities whether on social media or leading workshops and small groups.

When in Rhode Island you can buy Dawn’s book at local gift shop Gansett Goods and Rarities Books and Bindery.

When not abusing hashtags on social media, strolling along the seawall, shopping for new office supplies or talking to strangers in coffee shops, she enjoys hanging out with her hubby and 3 cats in Narragansett, RI. You can find Dawn sharing journaling posts on Instagram at @thejournalenthusiast, and cat videos and Rhode Island life posts at @enthusiasticallydawn
