The Journal Enthusiast

Dawn Paoletta loves to juggle words, chug coffee, journal excessively and abuse hashtags. She believes caffeine enhances her personality and sporadically serves up spontaneous journaling prompts on Instagram as @TheJournalEnthusiast. Her journal archives include over 300 journals spanning 35 years of her life.

In 2018-19 she hosted a 200-Day Journaling Adventure on Instagram with participants from all over the world. Her proudest achievement is discovering a High School teacher was using the journaling prompts to inspire students to write!

Dawn periodically hosts an online class called “Planner Boot Camp” to assist others in the benefits and joys of using paper diaries and notebooks for journaling, schedule management and creative endeavors of all kinds. Planner Boot Camp’s popularity in addition to Dawn’s availability and willingness to provide writing and journal styled inspiration regularly led to her interview by consumer trends journalist Ellen Byron and having her planner pages featured in the Wall Street Journal…TWICE: “The Trendy New Way To Organize Your Schedule: A Paper Planner” ; “Covid Spoiled Your Plans? Get a Planner, Say Devotees”.

Passionate about sharing creative writing adventures and encouraging others to explore for themselves the joy awaiting them at the end of their pen is what motivated her to write her first book: Journaling for Discovery and Delight – Creative Prompts for Your Journey

Her writing is included in the local Neighborhood Guild Creative Writers’ Group Anthology, Editions 1- 5. Dawn shares her passion, poetry, and prose on her blog, Enthusiastically, Dawn, and for local community events and workshops.

Dawn has collaborated in a number of creative efforts bringing artists and poets together to serve the community including the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly and the Wickford Art Association. Dawn’s poetry has been exhibited in the WAA’s Poetry and Art event in 2017 and 2020, 2021, and 2022. Limited-edition, full-color, professionally designed books cataloging the yearly exhibit are kept by the Poets House library in New York City, one of the premiere poetry libraries in the country.

Nearest to her heart is her faith life. The strongest and most prolific writing she does is by grace through faith in her personal journals. This writing is both springboard and a secret place from which many of the words she shares publicly originate. She enjoys writing about the things God is teaching her as she goes, and cultivates her hidden life with Jesus on the blank page as she sits, studies, and meditates on Scripture, seeking, listening, and learning. This is the wellspring from which she discovers her moments of greatest delight and draws her confidence and courage for each day.
