It’s been a crazy week…globally. Apologies as I missed the mid-week post. But, perhaps I had nothing to offer that was worthy.
My purpose is not to impress with politically savvy insights, news commentary, or medical information. You all have places to go for all of these. I have one voice and one purpose. To lift Jesus and share the simple words that come to my one frail being by His grace…may they bless the reader, Amen.
Begin Again
Another argument, misunderstanding-
missed opportunity, more demanding
No answer to unanswered questions
our voices rise over our repression
It feels like there’s no safe place for us to be,
misinterpreting the words, we’re led astray
twisted, maligned, withdrawn we go our way
distancing ourselves we’re told, is key
We’re struggling to see the truth, through the mess of it all-
dreaming about the way it was, before the fall
It feels like there’s no safe place for us to be,
but back in the garden, beneath the tree…
it’s what we long for, our destiny.
Can we begin again?
Change us, Lord…
Change us, Lord-make us yours,
transform our hearts, be our cause
be our purpose, our one true light,
and bring us through this long, dark night
Change me, Lord-make me yours,
transform my heart, be my cause
be my purpose, my one true light,
and bring me through this long, dark night
More words from this season’s offerings: Lent 2020
Our sermon at church today was on Jesus, the Light of the World. “The light shines in the darkness (but the darkness has not understood it)…and the darkness shall not overcome it!”
