Abba, Abba

 

Today, I offer you a prayerful poem. Words offered up like breath to Our God from the heart…as we wait, anticipating the joy to come – the hope that is Christmas, and the One who makes all things new, the Eternal Hope Bringer- the Child, that changes everything. Even our hearts. Unto eternity. Amen.

I pray these words bless you today. May they be your own prayer and praise to the One who IS Christmas.

Lord, let every day I live be a thank you.

Let every breath I breathe be an Amen.

Lord, let all my thoughts be in holy communion with yours.

 

Let my words and deeds – all I say and do

reflect your grace and truth,

my life, a testimony of your faithfulness.

 

Let this one life be a glass of cold water

to those thirsty, an encouragement

to the weary, and cynical and those wise in their own eyes.

 

Because you live in me,

there is a reason to rejoice-

there is a hope for us all!

 

Oh, Lord – This little lamb you have carried

close to your bosom is grateful.

Even now, even still…

 

Abba, Abba,

Father, God, Shepherd, Lover, Friend and King,

You are faithful.
