Dear Pillar of Society,
All of your reasons don’t matter.
Your staring, judgmental eyes burning
holes through my choices
leave me without doubt.
Our paths are forged with tools
unshared.
Though you think you see clearly,
I share not your philosophy.
For my path has known loneliness and pain
unknown by your kind.
Having survived in the wild, against the odds.
Having slipped through the cracks
of your so-called justice system…
Having faced the demons you deny-
I fear nothing- but see all.
I thrive with the remnants of wilderness within.
I will never be completely tame,
subject to your whims.
My face is always to the wind.
