Tonight there is a beautiful Full Moon – I have had a chance to rest, reflect, and consider the Sabbath. Awhile back as I read Jeremiah, a passage struck me and I have been considering it since. Tonight, as I considered Chapter 50: 6-7 and reflected on the day I wrote a short poem.
I pray it is a blessing to you. The verse is shown following the poem.
The Resting Place
Today, I was embraced by grace
acknowledged I was-
and I knew then, there is no hiding.
In Him, I live
In Him, I move
In Him, I have my being.
Today, I saw the face of an angel,
affirmed I was-
and I knew then, there is no escape.
He was, and is, and is to come.
Today, I found safe pasture,
rested I did-
and I knew then, as I know now
that He does lead-
is Himself the Good Pasture…
and I am home.
My people have been lost sheep.
Their shepherds have led them astray.
They wander around on the mountains.
They go from mountains to hills.
They have forgotten their resting place.
Everyone who finds them eats them.
Their enemies say, ‘We’re not guilty.
They have sinned against Yahweh, their true pasture.
They have sinned against Yahweh, the hope of their ancestors.’Jeremiah 50:6-7 Names of God Bible (NOG)
This is my story, this is my song…
