A Homemaker’s Prayer

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.  2 Peter 1:3

Isn’t it beautiful that redemption is written into the rhythm of every day? Each new month is a fresh start. Each week, even provides this same message.

We stumble into the truth as we bump into our unholiness, look in the mirror- catch a glimpse of our own lack. Each moment we seek His mercy, there it is, fresh and faithful…for He alone is faithful.

Rejoice with me for the new beginnings found in the everyday moments when we realize our need…and recognize that we cannot come up empty-handed when we have One who has freely given us everything

A prayer for the start of a new week…

declutter my heart.

unfetter these hands,

tied by selfishness and

release them to serve you,

with joy

without grumbling and complaining

without the need for continual confession

for my confessions are many, Lord,

and who can keep track

of such wayward souls…

This soul, Lord-

But you , Lord-

Love Everlasting,

You, Lord are faithful and true

and you, Lord, are able to cleanse

the uttermost corners

of my heart and mind

where darkness hides-

where darkness hides.

Purify me,

In me

put your perfection

and purpose.

For, I know

there is a decluttering greater

than the act of cleaning closets

and clearing out the garage.

It is your refining fire-

your Presence burns away

the unnecessary

to which I cling.

Your presence clarifies purpose;

and brings freedom

that no man can contain.

Abundance belongs to we

who are bought with a price-

in freedom enslaved

to something  better,

a beautiful and costly thing.

Bound forever to the bounty

of His Holiness

and grace-

all love is ours,

ours to embrace.

For He himself is Love,

has said it.

I wrap around this truth and am

limitless love,

unbound beauty,

unstoppable action,

grace in time-

I am a miracle-

Now, you know the secret

and this truth is for you

if you only believe,

believe as I do.

You’ll be the miracle, too.

the miracle,

Faithful and True.

  1. Beautiful Dawn! It’s amazing, I’m on the same page as your poem this week. I’m finally getting Bob’s clothes and things that I don’t need to the resale shop…at least I’m starting. I finally figured I was trying to freeze time. Guess what, it don’t work!!! All you get is dust. You are so talented!!! Thank you for sharing your inspiring poem!
