I Am Shame-Free (The Victory of Calvary)

We must never stop looking to Jesus. He is the leader of our faith, and he is the one who makes our faith complete. He suffered death on a cross. But he accepted the shame of the cross as if it were nothing because of the joy he could see waiting for him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne. Think about Jesus. He patiently endured the angry insults that sinful people were shouting at him. Think about him so that you won’t get discouraged and stop trying. (Easy-to-Read Version) *ERV @BibleGateway

Rearing the head,

disguised as wisdom,

Shame on you!

Who do you think you are?

Parading, puffed up, harsh-

appearing now,

the critic, judge, oppressor.

Timidly dancing before others- Deceiver!

Sweet words on lips- Lies!

Swallowing whole your victim- Snake!

Omitting grace, defying Love’s

Showing its face, not from above…

Hidden well,

ascending from hell.

Always you are

disguised so well.

But, I see.

What fruit do you bear? Ah,

only despair.

Discouraging another

without care.

You said,

and I recalled-

every single time

I’d felt small.

Then I remembered

my Faithful Lord-

unlike you.

Unlike you,

stands by me

of His own accord.

Unlike you.

Never once shaming me

into silence,

Despite my flaws or personality,

never once has He  – My Lord-

Shamed me…

In fact,

He hung at Calvary,

that I would know I was

Shame – Free.

But the enemy comes

oppressing the flock, roaming about, racing the clock

(hidden within)

Tick, tick and

(roaming without)

Tock, tock…

But, you only have affirmed in me

Once again,

Christ’s Victory-

What’s meant for evil,

God uses for good

Whatever the intention,

I’m covered by The Blood.

Note : If anyone tries to silence your voice in the church -or out of it…remember Jesus. He loves you and died for you, and by His very wounds we are healed. Look to Him, the Author and Finisher of our Faith. He will lead you into all Truth, guide you to relationships that are beneficial- which doesn’t mean without challenge, confrontation and conflict. BUT, it does mean with a generous measure of love, grace and kindness (You will know them by their love. John 13:35) God is ALWAYS faithful. Sadly, people are not. That is the truth. By His grace we press on and learn to love one another, forgive one another and become Christlike in some crazy miraculous way I don’t yet comprehend, but am grateful for just the same. May we continue to break through the barriers that would keep us apart. May forgiveness reign and may Christ be exalted and seen as He is. May He be the One you yield to. May He be the One you pledge your allegiance to and may He be the one you bow your knee to. This is the promise and victory of Calvary.

May we NEVER stop looking to Jesus. May we all keep Looking Up. May we find ways  to encourage one another and reach out to all our brothers and sisters in grace and truth with love, in the spirit of unity instead of seeking to tear down, divide and dismantle. May the Lord Himself help us to do all in Love, that we not labor in vain.

Wishing you, a blessed and Shame- Free Easter!
