Happy Weekend, Friends!

Our Journaling as a Lifestyle Series continues Monday, meanwhile I want to congratulate Lisa Oseland on winning the Giveaway.

One simple journal I love to keep is a  Gratitude Journal. The discipline and practice of writing thanksgivings regularly is an absolute game-changer and attitude adjuster. I am sitting at my desk and across form me I see the following quote,

“What if you woke up tomorrow and had only what you thanked God for today?”

I keep that quote in sight as I know it is easy to forget in moments that challenge, demand, and seem …well, thankless! But, the truth is Thankfulness breeds peace, contentment, humility and graciousness. An attitude of gratitude is a habit worth cultivating. Not to mention – though I will- the Bible tells us if we are Believers, thanking God is required for optimum Christian health. We are instructed to thank God in all of our circumstances. You wanna be a vital person? Wish you could feel more satisfied within regardless of your circumstances? Every Time a complaint or criticism bubbles up from within you, try switching gears and giving thanks!

Write down those thanksgivings! As the song goes, “Count your blessings, name them one by one, Count your many blessings, see what God has done.”

I incorporate thanksgiving in my general journaling but also keep a separate Gratitude Journal. I will share my  “G” Journals in an upcoming post.

What are you thankful for today?

I am grateful that I live in a free country, where I do not get bullied for my beliefs or live in fear for my life. I can walk wherever I want, talk to whom ever I want and be whoever I want to be with no reprisals. Today, I can go to the supermarket and buy as much food as I want and not have to worry about it being taken away from me,. I live in a house where I am safe and have no fear of it being attacked over night. I have a job, I have a husband and I have a son, all of which I know are as free as I am. This is what I am most grateful for and on the days when I can think of nothing else, I will always have these.
