Choose Your Destiny: Jesus VS Religion

Here is the second and final part to this poem…

If you missed it, you might want to Read the Prologue first …

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.

Proverbs 16:25

Choose Your Destiny

Jesus VS Religion

There is a way that seems good and right

but this is the way to death…

Jesus heals, Religion steals

Jesus gives, Religion takes

Jesus is the sacrifice

Religion creates its own device

Jesus draws the line,

Religion demands a sign

Jesus completes, Religion competes

Jesus purifies, Religion putrefies

Jesus reveals, Religion conceals

There is a way that seems good and right

Jesus commands our destiny,

Religion deceives humanity

Jesus is the Chosen One

Religion usurps God’s Only Son

Jesus is the Final Word

Religion plucks the wings of birds

Jesus is the only way

Religion poses and betrays

Jesus causes the blind to see

Religion adds its own decrees

Jesus is seated at God’s Right Hand

Religion comes up with its own commands

Jesus gives his children rest

Religion fails its own test

Jesus says come as you are

Religion says, you’ve gone too far

Jesus longs for all to come

Religion allows room for some

Jesus does not compromise

Religion wears a thin disguise

Jesus to His Father ascribes

Religion bows to the father of lies

Jesus lives to intercede for man

Religion thwarts God’s only plan

The Holy Key

Epilogue

For salvation and eternity

Jesus is the Holy Key,

allows all eyes

to finally see

into the beautiful mystery

of God’s Perfect Majesty

For all who willingly bow their knee…

Jesus alone will set you free.

Must read and re-read, let the truth of these words penetrate and soak deep. Thank you for sharing, for being bold, breaking down barriers, speaking truth. May we all cling to Jesus not religion; in our lives, our homes, our churches….

Rashea, I hope what comes across here, is that external religiosity does not mean internal repentance. Religion represents (in this context) a false or faulty view of God and self…Only Jesus can clear the way for Truth…as He is the Way and the Truth. This is nothing new…it s the continual sin throughout Old and New Testament. We can’t have it our way and God’s…Religion (here) is the reliance on flesh and not faith in God’s provision and ways alone…I pray this poem challenges you to rely on and trust Him alone. Thanks for commenting.
