Words in the Lot

Satan sneaks in subtly,

with snakelike words

that slither,

seeking to strangle

 the precious Christ

that lives and moves

and has His being

in you.

When your soul is glorying

and enjoying the good gifts

given by God,

Beware of the

 uninvited comments

from those within

the flock,

that choke the joy

residing in your soul.

Recall the devil hid well

in Peter…

sought to swerve the Son of Man

from His Victory.

Seeks still to discourage, dissuade, deceive-

desires your spiritual death-

longs for you to remain distracted

by petty things

and pride

parading as humility and service,

but never bowing…

picks on the characteristics ,

quirks and unique qualities

of His handiwork-

is blind to the beauty of the broken,

that resides in the Redeemed.

Protect that manger

still emerging

the Bright Morning Star that shines

at dawn,

while the sky is

still cloaked in darkness.

Cast out the viper,

Strike it dead,

before the poison

permeates, pollutes,

Remove the head,

toss the body

quickly, I say-

stomp on it, don’t wait.

For your hesitation

is an invitation

to nest his own brood

of vipers,

a slow descent to hell.

    I love your poetry.
I don’t know how it is that I never got subscribed to emails for your blog, but I’m going to do it–or try again–now. I don’t want to miss gems like this.
