Lament for the Day

Lament for the Day

Yes, I care about trees,

sharks and bees

and the unnecessary murder

of  innumerable babies-

in the womb,

or out.

Yes, I care about the mammas that bleed,

those crying to be freed,

and the slanderous creeds

replacing the truth

that cannot be changed.

Yes, I care for those strung, slain and shot

without voices

to speak,

and those who are weak,

crawling in dirt,

dying of thirst.

The future looks bleak

but it will get worse,

and I weep.

Yes, I care for those with

their nose in the air

untouched by the shame

that they wear,

and the lies they declare

Yes, I care for the innocent lost

to unjust hands,

and schemes of man

birthed by greed,

and those who believe

they know what they need-

wagging their tongues

when they finally concede,

as all will do

in the end.

It is near,

and I lament for the day

all will share

in the unveiling

for I am

without fear.

In His Grace

by faith

alone and stand,

in His hand.
