Right Vs. Rights

“Amid all the apparent defeats and inconsistencies of life God actually moves on in undisturbed majesty.”

Loraine Boettner

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

2 Timothy 4:3

Right Vs. Rights

Lord, What’s happening in the world today?

Disregard for you and all that you say-

They’re chasing darkness in every way.

If I was speaking of those who know you not,

it would make more sense to me;

but many cloaked in sheep’s clothes

are claiming victory…

not yours alone

that is clear-

they claim your name

but block their ears

to truth

proclaiming another way

guiding the blind further away

rejoicing in pride

glorying in sin

promoting lies

professing the win.

Thinking they’re wise,

but wolves disguised.

Glory mongers,

so current and cool,

but I see through the lies

though I dropped out of school.

One needs not a degree

for the truth of Calvary.

A broken body upon a tree,

came to set the people free

but just as they did before

rejecting light,

because they craved darkness more.

This is no new battleground

and the truth is out there,

may still be found,

by those who accept simplicity:

a man, a woman,

an apple, a tree-

and

Love’s

Final Stand

at Calvary.
