I recently wrote a local author and nationally syndicated columnist with regard to a moving piece he had written. In the e-mail I sent I shared a blog post I had written in response to the same topic, which I felt was rather inadequate when compared with his well articulated work.  I was delightfully tickled when he responded, as I honestly had no idea if he would a.) actually read the e-mail b.) respond to e-mail in general c.) bother reading the post I shared.

To my surprise he did a, b and c. He also gave me his thoughts on my writing AND then ended his e-mail with these word: “Don’t forget me when you’re rich and famous!” 

His e-mail response was short, gracious and a pleasant surprise. Even more surprising to me was when my Writing Instructor informed me, she regularly writes him and gets no response.

So, I wonder…what will I do when I am rich and famous?

continue in any direction with this prompt. Just have fun with it.

OR

1. You are disgustingly rich. Describe in detail a few of your favorite indulgances. You can be humerous, ridiculous and ludicrous. What does a day in the life look like for you?

2. You are suddenly wealthy and able to do whatever you wish for yourself and others. What do you do? What don’t you do? What might you do that you have not done before? Be imaginative. Discover yourself in new ways. Be radical. Or absolutely predictable. Walk through it with words…

3. You are suddenly thrust into fame. Describe how, why and what it is like. What was it that made you famous? How will you use the attention? Imagine what it would be like, what might change?

Feel free to write fiction if you feel inspired-
